Than why did ME2 feel like the Main Quest was about trying to bone one of your desperate crew members that want some Shepard Lovin?

I'm still unsure whether the ME1 sex scenes was made by the trainee in the cellar and no one noticed how talented this guy actually is, thus creating those hideous "rag doll puppets have sex" scenes for ME2! -.-

...or it was indeed some kind of self-censorship, which Bioware repeatedly denied. But what then? There was this negative reports about ME1 by FOX news, many people were offended by stuff they surely never saw themselfes. It was still a bit of a shock to Bioware I guess - but unnecessarily, I think this rather helped the popularity of the game!

And if I'm wrong, then please pull that trainee out of the cellar, give this man (or woman) a medal and for gods sake let him / her work on the love scenes for ME3!

It was mostly Elder Religious Zealots who aren't as accepting as the Newer Religious/Non-Religious Generation. Many older persons in a Religion still refuse the wonders of technology and are unable to incorporate it successfully. Than there are the 'over-protective' parents that aren't really present in their childrens life and want the Media/Government to protect their children for them. Finally there are the ever suspicious senior citizens that got angry as well.



Those are the people that Fox News targeted. If you look those are the only people that 'cared' about the news and those that 'do' play Video Games merely shrugged their shoulders. After all, Fox News 'stretched' the facts by a lot in an attempt to stir the pot and cause an unneeded outcry. After all, it's very easy to scapegoat Video Games. Hence why things like the California Game Law made as much strides as it has. Such as passing in California than being taken to the Supreme Court.



'That' is why the sex scenes were toned down. No one with any real authority on the matter will outright state it as such but that's how things turned out.

As for me, I'd like:

1. for every relationship to have its own scene/script/animations, like in ME2
2. for every dialogue in the scene to be unique (not following 'LI comes to you and talks about X no matter who your LI is' pattern)
3. for every intimate scene to be sexy and sensual; nudity isn't necessary, though, I find Miranda's scene to be very sexy and sensual as it is

Though, honestly, NO SEX SHOWN OMG didn't bother me in ME2 in the slightest. I romanced Thane; and I was happy with just the kiss. The game kinda hints sex did happen but the scene still doesn't contradict my personal canon where first sex took place after the SM, while two hours before the Omega-4 relay were spent talking.

/I guess my post was a bit too serious for this thread - ah well!

I prefer the ME2 scenes because they were actually unique. The ME1 ones were basically all the same except Liara gets an extended scene. So a mixture of both games would be great. I'm hoping that we get more romance scenes and dialogue for ME1 and ME2 LIs instead of the ME3 LIs being the only new romance content you get. I will feel cheated because I believe we all want the ME1 and ME2 romances to be fleshed out instead of too much focus on new LIs.

I'm ok if there won't be one.

Some romance, ok, development, ok, but it's not that I'm sitting on pins to see a sex scene in the game.

If there will be one, it shall have the architecture of ME1. Sensibly erotic but nothing really shown. Short, effective, giving the meaning and the mood.

Nothing more than that is required.



It's a story about Shepard facing the greatest threat in the galaxy, not a sex show after all.

I agree 100%

ME1 love scene was elegant and engaging. And not just because we got side nudity.

ME2 love scenes are just...well....bad. Bad lighting, bad model interaction, unrealistic love scene in general with awkward hugging and tusling instead of normal amorous interaction.

That is a perfect example of the mental retardation of the general public. 

They don't want to their kids to see men ****ing woman, but they'll flip their **** when they find out that their kid did anything slightly gay. 
There is nothing wrong with sex and it shouldn't be taboo to show it. We all do it and if you don't you're labeled a weirdo or a failure. 

If anything, kids don't see enough sex. You spend most of your childhood in school learning things you'll never use, but you only get 4 years in high school to figure out how to **** people.
You'll be doing/expected to do that latter a lot more in life.

Especially if it's in the missionary position for the sole purpose of procreation. If you get my implications.

Sense a poster mention about after the galaxy is saved tenderness I got to thinking we have tasteful ME style before going off to complete the game then we have an after end mission talk SB style with LI and then a second ME style love scene if player chooses and steers the conversation in that manner. If the player just wants to talk to LI and hold them then player can steer it in that direction too. Oh and BW if they where clothing (ie anyone but Tali at this point) change their clothing so we know there has been some time difference from end mission to this scene like Liara changed clothing in SB was nice allowed me to see yes time did elapse during the come on my ship to the friend talk moment.

Yeah...  The paste a face on the body thing in ME1 was kind of lame, now that it is brought up.

I think both games had their strengths/weaknesses, and arriving at some combination of the two systems would probably be best.

I'm not really expecting/hoping for anything from it. In fact I think I'd rather the sex between Shepard and the LI be more implied through conversation than anything else. I mean I guess I just don't get anything out of 30 second long, heavily censored sequences. Some knowing looks and verbal innuendo would be a lot more fun.

I don't care. I have said before that i prefer the ME 1 sex scenes, however that is because it seems more correct and more passionate. Only a few of the sex scenes in ME 2 is passionate (as it should be between two people that are either in love or phsyically attracted), while rest of the sex scenes in ME 2 were very wierd, and not passionate at all.



Doesn't have to be nudity, just make it seem passionate and real.

In Mass Effect 2, it's just like everyone wants to get laid one last time in case they don't make a return trip through Omega 4.
