Does any other game of its type even COMPARE to Dragon Age: Origins?

I have yet to come across a game like Dragon Age. Ever. I am begining to think that they don't exist. I was so blown away by everything in this game! The battle style, the dialogue, the character relationships, the characters personality, and yes..the best part...THE CUTSCENES! And let us not forget the other best part...THE HUMOR. I loved playing this game so much that I haven't put it down since it came out. Like 2 years ago! Am i alone out there in this? I need someone to also let me know if there are games just like this one out there, because i don't believe you

Neverwinter Nights 1, 2.
I own sacred 2 for the xbox it plays like Diablo 2 with a world like Oblivion lots of places to explore no real hard story driven plot.
The characters and Npcs in that game are about as deep as a puddle take it for what it is a hack and slash game still pretty fun to play just nothing at all to dragon age.

I am not even a quarter way through 4 and i am already at like 200 hours of gameplay! I love it. And i have some awesome videos my friends made from it. I think i will be stuck on DAO2 and ES5 for a loooong time haha.

Its pretty much the sequel to the Balduars gate series which is what Dragon Age is based pretty much on. (The game world that is)
You know the usal hero stuff save the world that kinda stuff it has the same dialogue trees as dragon age and choices you make that reflect into the future of the game.
Neverwinter nights pretty much has you trying to stop some plague i think haven't played 1 in a long time.
Number 2 has you reforging some ancient sword to defeat a enemy.

Baldurs gate 2 is probably my favorite game hands down lol.
Have yet to play a game that has that much stuff with such believable Companions and awesome story.
Have you guys played the elder scrolls daggerfall? Best elder scrolls Imo its old and dated but its just so much bigger then any other elder scrolls with more freedom.

No, i haven't! I don't even think it strikes my memory! Sounds awesome. Especially if it is that big. Is that just for pc? Forgive for sounding pc challenged. I am at the moment. Lol

Crazy info about Daggerfall:there are 750,000+ non-player characters (NPCs) for the player to interact with, compared to the count of around 1,000 NPCs found in Morrowind and Oblivion
the scale of the game is equal to twice the size of Great Britain:[1] around 487,000 square kilometers. The game world features over 15,000 towns, cities, villages, and dungeons for the player's character to explore. According to Todd Howard, an Elder Scrolls programmer, the game's sequel, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, is 0.01% the size of Daggerfall

Yes its for the PC its pretty old not surprised but its so old that you can download it for free legally from the elder scrolls website =)

I haven't found any games except the ones already mentioned above. I took a break from gaming after the last Baldur's Gate because I really couldn't find anything comparable. I will have to check out NWN1&2 thought...
I just started playing Oblivion as something to do while awaiting ME2 and DAII and I'm really liking it. The open world in Oblivion is so much prettier and interesting (at least to me) than in Sacred 2. I've tried playing that game but I lose interest pretty fast.

Yeah i know what you mean Baldurs gate set the bar way too high no other game really could keep me interested long enough to play through.
Im a huge retro gamer i only rarely play some of the newer releases unless it really looks interesting.

Right?? Oblivion is huge! That is what i really loved about number 4. And for a console? Even better! ususally console games are smaller, i find. You will take forever to beat Oblivion...literally!

Oblivion was fun it's pretty damn big thats for sure but it really feels empty all the NPCs feel so generic and bland

I agree with you there. The NPCs creeped me out sometimes. Haha.

Console has pretty lousy Rp games tbh, computer versions of the same game usally have more replay value.

LMAO, that you even mention the Elder Scrolls series and try to compare them to DA. The combat is a disaster, the gameplay and concepts are equally bad and the story is comparable to the story of a budget slasher movie. The only thing they had going for them was the open world, too bad they just took the English countryside look and copy-pasted it a hundred times. Horrible games.
But I digress. There are actually a few games that are comparable, and in some cases maybe even better. Baldur's Gate 1&2 are phenomenal. Neverwinter Nights 1 was fantastic as well. Neverwinter Nights 2 was not quite as good but still really fun. These are the ones that struck me at first, I'll update if I'll come to think of anything else.

Pretty much any game made by Bioware
The Fallout series is noteworthy.
The Elder Scrolls.
Grand Theft Auto perhaps.
Red Dead Redemption.
I've never played the Witcher . . . but i've heard good things about it. Bad things too.
I seriously can't think of any other WRPGs that might fit. I'm sure that some JRPGs exist but I tend to shy away from that group of games (I dislike the art style).

Thank you!
I have played all except the Fallout series.
But, they don't quite match, do they?
Well, Oblivion might.
