Still it is nice to see Bioware carrying on the "up yours PC/360 gamers" line by denying those that want this on the PC/360 from the opportunity of getting it.

I'm glad that we are able to bring the Mass Effect experience to PS3 gamers. And how is finally bringing the game to a new platform a year later an "up yours" to those who already have the game? As I said in the other (now locked) thread, which some people seemed to take issue with, sometimes other people get nice things, too. :)

I think the issue is that all of them are getting it for free as DLC. I think if PS3 owners got a limited time pre-order release of it like PC and 360 owners got no one would be complaining.

And I'm not sure if I have to say it explicitly, but please be excellent to each other in this thread, thank you. Platform wars are never pretty.

There is nothing to "sort" You had the chance to get it. Now new customers on the PS3 have the same chance. Bioware has the right to do as they please with their property without the consent of a bunch of fans throwing a hissy fit.

Sure, they have the right to do anything, but that doesn't mean they should or will-the fans are important, and if Bioware don't realize that, I'm suprised.

Bringing the game to a new platform isn't an issue, the exclusive content is.

It's not exclusive content it was available to both PC and X Box 360 users before PS3 ever got the game. Oh and if you want to talk about exclusive content? Pick up that shiny box containing Mass Effect. A game that PS3 users won't have. Still upset about some armor and a gun now?

I am a PC gamer so I very well know all about being "denied" access to some games.  I never personally agreed with Bioware doing this Xbox exclusivity rubbish but you guys never had a problem with excluding PC/PS3 customers initially did you ?

I never said I had a problem with PS3 users getting Mass Effect 2, I wouldn't even have a problem with PS3 users getting Mass Effect 1 but obviously that can't be done because of the deal YOU GUYS made with Microsoft.

Now if you think it is acceptable to with hold ME 2 content from existing customers I would say yeah that is telling existing customers "up yours we have your money".  I take issue with the fact you are with holding ME 2 content from ME 2 customers if you can't understand why your existing customers would have a problem with that then there is no point in me trying to explain it.

I'm still wondering whether promo content like the Terminus gear that are linked to the PC/360 will transfer to the PS3.

There is a difference between valuing fans and giving in to every demand fans make. Showing some love to the new fans on PS3 is nothing against existing fans its just time for PS3 to get their fair share of Bioware love.

I think you are missing the "chance" part. PS3 users will be able to get it forever. It will be on the PSN until the PSN shuts down. 360 and PC users had no option like that. It was a pre order bonus so people picked which one they liked. There were several versions of the game that were coming out. If you wanted every item you'd have to buy the game twice like I had to. Now there is no Collector's Edition for the PS3. They just get the Collector Weapon and Armor for just buying the game. Now they get this DLC that will be sitting in the PS3 store forever.

Exclusive to a degree. Nobody got the armor and weapon for free for buying the game, it was a pre-orer from a certain retailer. Also, inferno and incisor were both released in DLC, why can't we get terminus as well?

And bioware doesn't have control over mass effect, that's down to microsoft. They do have control over this.

What content is being witheld? Both DLC was available to PC and X Box 360 users. It's not like PS3 is getting any content that has never been available on X Box 360 and PC.

And what about all those people who pre ordered the game just to get that content? Are they to be forgotten and then just anyone is allowed to buy the DLC that they pre ordered the game for just to get something extra?

If that happens they will be saying "Well why did i pre order the game then?" by not having the content available for all they are honouring those fans who pre ordered the game.

No they never are Stanley. So why does your company insist upon starting them with comments like. "This is the definitive version" and "Sometimes other people get nice things too". I never wanted the PS3 version to boil down to a petty flame war between consoles. Yet it never ceases to amaze me how many of Biowares own comments start them, then they never come in to elaborate or explain anything. If you start a flame war as the representative of a company perhaps you should try to end it.

Bioware already did that to gamers who pre-ordered the delux edition, or those that preo-ordered to get inferno.

Don't they get the Aegis pack aswell? That makes everything obsolete after the Lazarus Station.

Blackstorm however is cool. But the Collector Beam is the most useful.

Nothing to gloat about here folks, move along.

I pre ordered the game and I am happy I did. I would like it if all users eventually got everything. However the PS3 users are getting absolutely everything without having to do anything remotely special. All they have to do is walk into a store and buy a new version of the game. They don't have to deal with Dr. Pepper codes. They don't have to pre order the game from 2 locations.

So as for your strawman of a question. Many people can ask, why did I bother pre ordering the game when the PS3 owners don't even need to pre order it to get more than I got when I pre ordered my copy?

Personally, I don't think it's that big of a deal. I would have if the PS3 version was released at the same time as the PC and Xbox 360 versions, but it's coming out a year later.

I think they're trying to get more people to buy the PS3 version who normally might not buy it.

Simply because they need a draw to bring people in. If they turned around and said "oh you'll just get a port of the basic game and you'll haveall the DLC available to buy" it would flop badly. It works better to say "we optimised the game and you get all this DLC included"  So to answer that question "to sell more games"

The Terminus Armor and Weapon should've been available to all a long time ago. It should've been bundled with the Inferno armor since that was the other pre-order bonus.

Pretty sure a vast majority of you whinners stopped careing about this a long time ago. When word comes that someone 'else' may be getting it and you come running through with tears in your eyes.

The armor isn't even that 'good'. It's more of a novelty thing and that's that. You find much better equipment in the base game and lets face it.

The Cain > That puny Weapon.

Lifesupport Weaves + In game Equipment > That pathetic Armor.
