1. I registered on the old bioware forum site before realizing it was apparently closed. Should I delete that account which has my CD key info?

2. What sites should I be aware of and have bookmarked relating to NWN 1 & 2?

3. Does the in-game multiplayer provide a "good" search engine for finding multiplayer games, does Steam provide this, or is there a site, or a forum post that provides them?

4. And being that I want to play with other people what is the best way to go about doing that in this game?

Thanks for your help.

1. No clue how that works unfortunately.

2. Definitely the most commonly used one is the Vault. http://nwvault.ign.com/
Here you can find a lot of single-player modules for both games, you can find info on persistant worlds (the multiplayer worlds) and a lot of content to use if you ever wish to create modules yourself with the toolset.

3. I'm not into multiplayer myself, but just from poking around, the in-game multiplayer browser (just press the multiplayer button in the main menu of the game) seems to be a pretty good tool for finding worlds and info on them.

4. I think that depends on how you want to go about it. There are two ways to play this game online I believe. Either you can play through the main campaigns co-op style, and if you do this I think you'll need to find people beforehand to play it with (so you can coordinate schedules and all that). The second way are the persistant worlds I mentioned above, which are sorta like... I dunno, self-contained worlds where you create a character (similar to MMOs in some ways).

Welcome to the forums! I'm not sure (again, don't play multiplayer myself) but try checking a pit in the "Persistant worlds and multiplayer" section, I'm sure there's info to be found there.

2) These forums and the old ones, the Vault (already mentioned), the wiki (nwn2.wikia.com), and if you want to see/post character builds, this site: nwn2db.com. I guess there are sites related to multiplayer, but I'm not into that, so I don't know.

Welcome!

You register your CD-Keys still at the old Bioware site, you just can't post there and talk to all the cool folks who once walked those halls.  There, anyway.

2. What sites should I be aware of and have bookmarked relating to NWN 1 & 2?

Clearly, you made it here, that's a good thing.  The IGN NWN2 Vault, NWN2 Wiki, Neverwinter Connections, the aforementioned build site, and don't forget to check out the NWN2 Chat (see Sticky this page of same title.)
(** Important note on the IGN Vault link -- look at the sidebar to the left and check out the sections for NWN2, or look to the sidebar on the right and click the hot links for some of those same sections.  Just, whatever else you do, DON'T READ the linked page itself!  It's full of nothing but spam advertising and it'll make your eyes bleed and you'll have to roll a Will Save to prevent loss of INT.  You've been warned.**)

3. Does the in-game multiplayer provide a "good" search engine for finding multiplayer games, does Steam provide this, or is there a site, or a forum post that provides them?

Conditionally, Yes.  You should automatically connect into the GameSpy network and there will be a pretty seriously long list of PWs and MP sessions available right then.  That said, Neverwinter Connections is where you should go to schedule a session with someone for a predetermined time and date.  Also, you're more likely to find active promotion of MP/DMd sessions at Neverwinter Connections than at Gamespy, though I am not sure if, through the interface, if you can get to forums or such at Gamespy -- doubt it.

4. And being that I want to play with other people what is the best way to go about doing that in this game?

Umm, well, the above pretty much covers it other than you coming here to these forums and others.  More information will come from more questions and more reading.  You're already well on your way in the start of your online Multiplayer journey.

Thanks for your help.

You're quite, most and more than welcome,
best regards,

Good suggestions from those that posted before me.

If you're not into the PW approach, and are looking for a "PnP" DMed campaign game, feel free to contact me.  I have two separate groups on the go right now.

Welcome.

Hey thanks again for all the help. I will definitely check out and bookmark the sites listed. I am not sure about the PW multi-player approach as I play MMO's already and am not looking for another. If anyone has PnP Dmed game and needs another definitely send me a PM.

Trust me, the PWs are, for the most part, VERY different from an MMO. Most of the worlds are much more dynamic on the whole and you get a better overall class of gamer in general. Even on non-RP game worlds, there's a fair amount of folks who might not RP their every action, though they do tend to remain consistently In-Character when they do so.

Hiya!

I have just put up a comprehensive guide for NWN2 which outlines all it's benefits and features. You can read it here:
