Awakening's system had its strengths. The weakness of the system in Origins was that you could essentially race through the dialogue tree by repeatedly clicking on party members.
I have the reverse problem. Because I know I'm going to use up the dialog tree if I keep talking, I end up deliberately avoiding talking to some characters because I don't want them to run out before I'm halfway through the game. Then I end up playing catch-up when I get near the endgame,
