Don't know if this has been posted yet, but if you guys frequent NeoGAF, there's always awesome news sprouting up there. I was reading the ME3 thread there, and noticed a NFS public relations guy talking about the game.

 I'll just his posts talk:

When asked about squadmates, he said:

The Antitype wrote...

Yeah, combat and in-engine cinematics mostly. Some conversations,
nothing that could really be used to establish context. No HUD though,
so I don't know about any mechanical changes.

As for returning squad mates...yes. But I'm not going to say who, cause that's probably off limits. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie]

Talking about ME3 gameplay:

The Antitype wrote...

Finally got around to watching it.

Surprised they didn't show any gameplay since rumblings around the
office are that the game is already fully playable, beginning to end,
RIGHT NOW and the next year or so is all polish.

That might not be true, but the game is definitely far enough along that gameplay would have dropped jaws.

After asking him for an explanation, he responded:

The Antitype wrote...

Well the game being complete and fully playable from beginning to end is
just a rumor I've heard ...but I heard it from people who would
probably know.

As for the dropping jaws thing? EA sends around internal, confidential
demo reels every so often, so that we all know what each arm of the
company is up to, and it lets the devs strut their stuff to each other.
Last one I saw was late Dec and it looked damn good.

Those giant robots tearing apart the Earth? I've seen them rendered in-engine. :D

He's also seen gameplay reels of Battlefield 3. Another user asks him:

derFeef wrote...
BF3, ME3 - dude you must be a lucky person. Why do they show the stuff to so many folks tough? Even PR guys?

EA PR guy:

The Antitype wrote...

Battlefield 3, Dragon Age 2, NFS, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Bulletstorm and a few others were all in the same reel.

I don't know the reason they show it to us. I imagine it has to do with
team-building, make everybody in the company feel invested in the future
and proud of the content the company is putting out.

On another level, say I'm a marketer for NFS and we get budget x for the
next game. Then we see or hear that another game gets budget 3x. If
we've seen the game, see why the company is expecting so much from it,
and see that it's on track to earn that budget, then it probably helps
morale.

He also says:

The Antitype wrote...

Anything I saw about BF3 or ME3 could be inferred by fans of the franchise.

*EDIT*

The Antitype wrote...

Ok, I just want to clarify that no characters were ever addressed by NAME in the trailer.

And since I can't tell one member of an alien race from another member of the same race (see how I don't say which one? Image IPB) in the middle of fast-moving action sequences, I'll just say I THOUGHT I recognized some returning characters.

So, sorry if I break hearts or destroy my credibility. I just wanted to make sure I was as honest as possible.

If you held a gun to my head and asked if I thought characters are coming back, based on what I saw, yes.

Frankly, I don't believe it at all. Like, not even remotely.

That's ok, you don't have to. Anybody who claims they work with a game company has to prove it in order to be given that title on forums like NeoGAF and Gamefaqs, etc, so I believe it.

NeoGAF users are notorious for ripping apart fakes. I'm almost positive he's for real.

Yeah, I've seen/heard people claim, "I am this person" or "I know this person" or the usual, "I've heard this person say" so I take it with the biggest grain of salt in the history of salt.

I have a source that says the game will be done 100% Chibi style clayamation.  It's a big change from the first two, but it's worth it.

Also, my source confirmed this, so it's true.  If you doubt me, you're admitting to being some place between one and two fifths polar bear.

I am Cuban and Indian with Irish and Spanish descent, my Indian side being royalty.

I am positive that no part of me is in any way, shape, or form related to a Polar Bear.

Although I do fancy Coca-Cola every now and again.

Already finished? Why would they wait a year from now to release it and not a a Spring or Fall release....I would be very skeptical about this.

At least I know it's very much in playable form according to Christina Norman:

@truffle (Christina Norman)

I am celebrating 2011 by playing a Mass Effect game that will probably be released in 2011.

Right. So is this going to be like your last thread where Chris ends up posting something like the following?

Chris Priestly wrote...

Interesting guess. Not correct, but still quite interesting.

Still doubtful. You can play sections of a game, a demo of said game, a rough unpatched version of said game, said game's illegitimate second nephew named Steven, that sort of thing.

So my doubt remains.

Well finished and playable are completely different beasts arent they? lol

Either way we have to wait a year or more anyways to get the game.

The game could be playable in a functional state, from beginning to end, but the assets most likely are not all in place is what he means.

How could they? It's closed membership and the forum isn't very forthcoming about itself. Context is everything.

It's not unrealistic that the game could have the bulk of main content and enviroments in already for a game that will be released in 11 months. They need to get the basics up and running so that they can tweak and test all the new abilities, weapons, enemies etc in every area of the game.

That poster didn't have proven credentials so, so even I was wary about it, I didn't say it was true, I just forwarded it along.

For forums, like NeoGAF or GameFAQS for example, if you want to be registered as an employee of a game company, you have to prove it. The administrators go through a process that proves it, like on Gamefaqs, you'll see a "VIP" under their name with a description.

The same with NeoGAF, so this time holds more weight in my opinion.

Would they say anything else?

"No, our game is crap. You don't want to buy it."

"It's so terrible that you'll go blind."

"Seriously."

I don't need them to say anything else. Having already played ME1 and ME2, we know it will be epic.

This smells fishy, I've never seen a game be finished this quickly, even cod it takes two years at least. Though it seems it only took the mass effect team a year to create a game that could end up longer that 20 hours of missions. If thats the case the game is to going to be bad... At least it will be polished

Unofficial information based on rumours and hearsay is to be taken with a very large grain of salt, to say the least.

More Evil Chris™ goodness:

Chris Priestly wrote...

Keep in mind that nothing "quoted"
is 100% guaranteed. We are still developing the game and features
change, we adapt, refine and improve. Just because you think it is there
now based off an old interview (or even a new one) that doesn't mean it
will or will not be in teh game.

I only point this out so people
don't say "But I saw in a thread that "X" feature was confirmed".
NOTHING is confirmed until we ship.

Yeaaa...I tend to take anything Chris says with a bigger grain of salt, since a lot of things that turned out to be true were "not true" according to him. Honestly he's probably the last person I'd believe from Bioware. If it was another Bioware dev, I'd definitely believe him.

In any case, that quote has nothing to do with the topic to be honest.
