We already know that all the races have been redesigned. (Most) Qunari have horns, etc.
What I'm wondering is: will elves be as tall as humans in DA2, or does it just look that way in the concept art?

I'm referring to this picture:

By art standards, the male elf looks a lot taller.

When they said they were going to make a major change to how each race looked, I was expecting a little more then an appearance that doesn't go beyond human-like features.

The sten would agree.

They seriously look like female Draenei without hooves.

Even while barefoot, the two human looking women must stand on their toes as though they are wearing high heels. This makes perfect sense for a picture intended to show height relation.

Well, yes. Halfling also became athletic rather than overweight. It's a "brand identifying" thing.

I thought that was because the Tolkien estate threatened to sue?

Halflings were very hobbit like (roundish, bare feet, preferred a quiet life) until they started taking traits from Dragonlance's kender.

I hope they stay shorter.

If girls can't romance Fenris because he's an inch too short that's their problem.

Nop, they are gorgeous in my opinion. Its no wonder Qunari hide their  females-humans would  do anything to get  to them. Look  what happened to elves...;)

Nah even from a female perspective (and this is just me) I think the female quanari are pretty in that Amazonian way, capable strong looking women but still pretty. The males on the other hand...ehhh...I dunno  not my cup of Irish coffee probably the horns there. I'm the same way about dwarves though the males are meh but the girls are really quite cute..remind me more of gnomes than dwarves lol.

I honestly think they're too attractive.
I hope they fix that by the time we actually see one.

I feel sorry for the human men who try to play Vaughan with a qunari woman.

Is that supposed to demotivate us? Because it's doing the opposite for me.

People have no accounting for taste. Aveline is gorgeous in her own, strong, redheaded way.

Nope, that's the dwarves. They lay different colored rocks, depending on the dwarfling's gender.

No, the change in name took care of that. The changes to being more atheletic happened years later as they made changes with new editions.

Ah, right. To make their appearance mirror the way people were playing them. And since TSR already owned the kender...

Still, that's not really the same thing. For copyright reasons, they weren't hobbits, they were halflings.
Elves are elves. I can live with short elves, but I'd much prefer them to be as tall as humans.
