I said it was your main reason because I assumed this discussion had more to do with elves as an idea of what they should be, and not on whether it would be better for the graphics to render. They were the only points you brought up for why you felt Elves should be human height or taller. If you interpreted what I said about the romance as an attempted put down, again I apologize. It just seemed from your post that that particular reason had less technical reasons behind it and had more to do with personal taste, which is the part of your opinion I’m most interested in. as for your insult, come on we’ve avoided personal attacks so far why change it? (although I’m now curious on what about my arguing ability you think needs improving?)
Your argueing ability is fine. I just don't like if someone takes a part of what I say out of context and puts it as if it is all I had to say. Anyway, I guess I also have to apologize for the tone in my posts, and not only to you.
Well I wouldn't know why elves should be smaller in general. The point that they should be smaller because they are inferior also bothers me. Or as you put it in your first post that you like if non-human races have 'shortcommings'. Not exactly sure what you mean by that but I prefer if non-human races are both, lesser and higher than humans in every respect.
I didn't like that elves were portrayed as slaves or savages and that that connected to their size. As if it was better for slaves to be smaller than their masters. The whole 'human superiority' thing kinda bothers me actually. It seems to be a trend in fantasy games lately. So I am not a fan of the 'we are humans, we kick everyone's ass' mentalitly.
Of course I know that size doesn't equal worth of a person or group of persons, I just find it odd that socially inferiour groups should be portrayed physically inferior. And I am 6ft in rl, so it is not an inferiority complex. Anyway my point is that I don't know one good reason why elves must be smaller than humans. I have read this whole thread and I don't think I have seen one good point either.
I can understand and accept though that different people have different tastes for whatever reason.
