I believe it has been stated/suggested that your mother's family is/was Kirkwall Nobility, and that one objective within the game will be restoring this status. Therefore, I would suggest that a manor/mansion of some sort is conceivable with your family possibly in attendance. Also, at the very least I would expect your residence to be customizable to the extent of the ME2 Captain's Cabin, with trophies, findings and random aesthetic purchases.

I don't recall which preview it was, but I recall mention of your mother's family's estate being your main destination when you get into kirkwall

living on an estate/manor would at least diffuse the shame of living with your mother and little brother/sister Image IPB

For myself in my perfect DA2 (though who knows this may be the case). I would love choices impact our house, location, etc. Say whether we support nobles or rebels (to give a random example) would make a difference between a manor house in Hightown or a abandoned house in Lowtown. Plus as well the time jumps I see as a perfect opportunity to move your house location around.

It will probably be like the ME2 and you have a semi customizable home base in your quarters, room, thing. But instead of a stereo you'll have minstrels, instead of model spaceships you'll have the other kind of model ship, and you'll still have fish but your mother will constantly tell you to feed them but it'll be pointless because they'll still die. Also keeping with the child theme you'll have a treehouse that you can get too from your window. Imagine sexual goings on with your LI in a treehouse. *Sexy growl*

In Drakensang the house you live in has a a cat that follows you around, and you have the option of buying chickens to keep in the garden and a rock gnome to put in the cellar. I will graciously settle for just the cat, though, especially if I can name it Ser Pounce-A-Lot.

We need fish.

NOOOOOOOOOO! I'm still depressed about all my fishes dying in ME2, MANY MANY times
over. I can't even eat fish anymore out of guilt:crying: now, if it was a miniature giant space hamster (preferably
called Boo)...

I was thinking that Hawke's house would go something along these lines, akin to the Normandy in ME2, or somewhat like in Assassin's Creed II were Ezio gets his family villa but its all in a bit of disarray and falling apart, so you have to spend monay on a restoring it to its former glory.

Will I be able to import my characters from the Sims 3 to Hawke's house in Dragon Age 2?

I'd rather Kirkwall be like the Villa from AC2.

The concept art gave me strong AC 2 vibes but I didn't see it in the environment we've seen.

I doubt it'll be customizable, but it'll probably change when you become Champion.

Will it be customizable? Will our Love Intrests be avaialable as roomates? Are we sharing it with our family? I feel like it's a REALLY cool feature that has gone unnoticed. Please post any additional questions or answers.:o

Possibly. Probably. No.

So, when we wake up in the morning, we run the chance of seeing Isabela's latest conquest crashed on the couch?

No...because if Isabela ever even thinking about touching someone else (unless she is putting on a show for my Hawke) while being in a relationship with me I'm gonna feed him/her to the hungry slaves of kirkwall after roasting

the throphies idea is cool.

I just hope we do not have to "upgrade" it per plot like the SR2 or Vigil's Keep

The love interest just better not mess with my bachelor pad that's all I can say. She'll probably want to 'redecorate'. That will cost me a fortune. "Move the Halla head over there dear....no wait, it might look better over the mantle!" Fluffy toilet seat covers....she'll want to throw out my 'Girls of Denerim' monthly.

I'm getting tense just thinking about it.

I think I can speak for Isabela here in that if someone attempted to remove her pearl, they would sprout a few new orifices.

We could stock our item and have a log book of everything accomplish, like a journal or something

I can see it already.

Hawke: Salute, Bethany

Bethany: You here to look at the book?

And that will be all she says for 80% of the game. :P Good times. I think it would be pretty cool to have a new house every time jump as we rise in power. Maybe have a trophy room like in Fable 3.. but done better. With less mountains of gold and more actual visual accomplishments.

Maybe I'm just a sucker for trophy rooms and pawing over past glories.

It will probably have a similair trophy system like Awakening did. ie the Golem Shell, the Dragon Egg, the Queen of the Blackmarshes Skull, loved that thing hanging from the rafters.

It better have the option to allow ceiling mirrors, lava lamps, furry dice pillows, and a fully stocked bar or I'm gonna be pissed off.
