What do you make of this slew of mysterious mass animals deaths?

You might have heard by now, but recently in the news there has been a string of mass animals deaths. Which range from birds, to fish, and to crabs. What do you think is the cause of these recent events?

Now for those who haven't heard allow me to explain. Anyhow in the news there have been stories of birds dropping out of the sky, 1,000s of dead fish and crabs washing up on shore. Now don't get me wrong here, it is fairly common that all these things happen from time to time. But yet recently events are happening so close together it has people (me) wondering.

What could it mean? I have heard many theories that range from fireworks, supernatural acts of God, government testing (they did create the AIDS virus after all), global cooling, Beezelbub and his army of Lizard people. What's your opinion on this.
