If Tali is willing to cover up for her father, then she has no integrity to the laws of her own race which raised her. And is right to exile, rather than considering her for promotion to Admiral.

Say someone set up a bomb in your house. The bomb killed your family, not the guy who did it.

The Guy built the bomb with INTENT to kill your family. Tali's father did not. Should every person who ever made a weapon go to jail? Their creations have been used to kill somewhere. Tali's fathers intent was to help his ppl. He was not the only Quarian involved, therfore not the only one being covered up for.  Saving face and creditbility for the Quarians and letting them solve their own problems in their own way. Is the right choice IMO. Bringing out the truth? What truth He created Geth that killed Quarians who knew what they were involved in? Bringing No peace just more problems.

You say cover up for Tali's father, but this is not true. Every Quarian on that ship knew what was goin on. They are just as responsible as Tali's father. So lets tell all those Quarians that their families that were killed by the Geth, are now considered war criminals that created their demise. What good or justice comes from this?.

Quarian marine teams went in and died.

Carelessness as guilty as intent. You hit a person with car, on accident not purpose, you in trouble. Good intentions go only so far. End does not justify means.

And He paid with his life.( As did the other Quarians involved. He did not do it alone.) A marines life is one that calls for death. Marine's deaths are on their own hands.

Or by your means,The ones who ordered them to go?

Everyone in the military called for death?

I actually don't much care for sitting on evidence for war crimes, but some people value friendship over revealing war crimes. Or maintaining loyalty of a specialist tech for a greater purpose. Or don't really think it's a war crime worthy of note. It's probably difficult for me to see the larger picture when my family's been directly affected by war crimes, though.

It's not the right thing to do. But sometimes the right thing to do is not the smart thing to do.

You said Marine. They are trained killers. If they died it is because they failed to kill something they were ordered and trained to kill.

If Shepard dies, whos fault is it? I say Shepards.

The crew paid with their lives, how much justice do you need?

AFAIK there's nothing in the ME lore regarding quarian conscription.

So it's a soldiers fault he died after being ordered to go against overwhelming odds?

Truth is justice.

I had to respect Tali's wishes. Her father was guilty and paid for it with his life. I don't think Tali and her family should carry the blame for he did. If this information became public:

1. Tali and family would take the blame unfairly, and Tali will never never be promoted to Admiral no matter what she does in the future.

2. The Quarians will become even more paranoid and anti-geth, and I am for peace.

Draftees? Now you haven been shown a diffrent path,So whos fault is it? The Orders or the Geth? The dead Quarian crew didn't kill the Quarian Marines.. Their are no Marine draftees.

It's the punishment that makes me hesitate - ALL of Rael'Zorah's accomplishments will be stricken from the records of the Migrant Fleet. He won't be considered a man who just went too far, he'll become an unrepentant monster in the eyes of the quarians.

Likewise, the trial is the real issue, not what Rael did, and the fact that it's blaming Tali for political reasons, rather than because any of them really believe that she's guilty - just speak with the Admiralty Board, and they all admit that SHE isn't responsible, but they all want to press their individual issues and opinions of the geth. She's just the scapegoat while they all press their own agendas. By handing them the new evidence, you just create a new fracture into the Fleet, and create an even more volatile situation, as hinted by the completion screen that mentions instability in the fleet.

It comes down to what's more important, bringing a dead man's crimes to light or keeping the Fleet intact. And to me, the greater good is served by keeping the Fleet whole.

True. Covering up crime just to maintain a friendship is criminal IMO. War crime worthy or unworthy, wasn't for Shepard to judge, but the Quarians.

Every race have their own laws. Might be vehemont to others, but it's their law. What about those criminals who were caught and criminalized? Would it be fair for them someone else gets away with it legally?

Would be unfair for family to take blame. But that's not the point. The point is revealing truth.

2. The Quarians will become even more paranoid and anti-geth, and I am for peace.

No, it discourage Quarian attack on Geth to reclaim homeworld if war crimes revealed. Admiral Gerrel states it.

Right. This is called "being a poopyhead", also known as "being unnecessarily rigid and un-cool about a situation where you should care more about your friend than the letter of the law in an alien culture that thinks throwing one of its people to the lions would be an excellent method of achieving political agendas".

That said, I do not think you are wrong, and if you place justice above friendship, no one could fault you for it.
