Updateing the main page

One more thing I notice (as if you guys don't have enough work already)

The main page updates immediately when using the default skin. If I use the DA skin, the main page takes a while to update the "Whats new"

For example, this post will show up on the main page(default skin) as soon as I post it, but it may or may not show up on the DA skin main page.

I think that's actually to do with caching and which webserver you're hitting at any given time rather than the different skins; there shouldn't be any differences in the actual code. We'll dig into it though!

I think you are right, the Default don't update either! But it does if I switch back and forth between default and the DA skins.

I've noticed if I go to any of the Home (BioWare Community, Dragon Age Player Community, etc) pages it bang up to date (to the second) however if I go to my ironically named What's New | My Network it is, currently, a couple of hours behind the time times.

There's also an issue with a person's current status.

Example -

Fester Pot thinks Jassper & SJ should get a ROOM!

Jassper thinks Sunjammer should mind his own business

Sunjammer thinks Jassper should get a life and stop hanging out on the Social Site

Yet, when Sunjammer updated his status to respond to the above and Jassper followed, it looks like this -

Jassper only wants to help :(

Sunjammer would but he's working on making DA rock!

Fester Pot thinks Jassper & SJ should get a ROOM!

The previous status entries made by Sunjammer and Jassper vanish, making me look like a pervert :)

Your comment about Sunjammer minding his own business is not there, nor is the comment Sunjammer made about you to get a life.

"Fester Pot thinks Jassper & SJ should get a ROOM" is my response to those two comments.

So your screen shot should have looked like this:

Fester Pot replied to topic Updateing the main page

Jassper only wants to help :(

Sunjammer replied to topic Updaeting the main page

Sunjammer would but he's working on making DA rock!

Fester Pot thinks Jassper & SJ should get a ROOM!

Jassper thinkgs Sunjammer should mind his own business *** NOW GONE

Sunjammer thinks Jassper should get a life and stop hanging out on the Social Site *** NOW GONE

The last two lines were deleted when you and Sunjammer updated your status to -

Jassper only wants to help :(

Sunjammer would but he's working on making DA rock!

That's what I was getting at.

Just a personal observation, in the opening page (and even this one) My avatar and the menu below it seems too far to the right.  It pushes the first few 'Whats New' entries quite far to the right.  And in this forum screen there is a lot of empty space in the left hand margin.

Also new colour scheme for the front page of the forums is nasty right now.  Red lettering on black looks okay but we have light greys and even some white on a light background that is hard to read.  Not sure if others screens look the same as mine.

I use the Bioware default, you get a lot more info in the "Whats New" as it is not restricted by a window and things line up a lot better. Colors are easy on the eyes.

We really really don't recommend using the DA theme at this time; it's a work in progress.

Okay, I didn't even know that those were the themes at the top menu since it just says 'Home'. I thought there was a way to change themes but I didn't clue in that those were in fact different themes. I am back to the BioWare one now.
