It's worth a read, we've all had one of these moments I'm sure, it gets pretty humorous in a sad way, EA staffs some untrained folks - Enjoy!

EDIT: EDIT> For too many people who are saints and seem to find sarcasm and being a smartass meant to be humorous as being a dick, ******, rude, ass, etc.

Interesting. After the first complete misunderstanding I would have closed the chat and tried again in hopes to get someone who would be willing to read. But since in most cases they have a list of canned answers it is hard to get much help that way.

So was I after saying 360 Dragon Age CE over and over still she kept talking about download and such, but I'm  sure she was the most confused agent of all time.

What are you confused about?

I usually do as well, yeah I got my cancellation confirmation ordered it elsewhere, only reason I went through EA in the first place was because I had a $15 off coupon from the EA Store

WOW is that like an automated reply service or something? I swear she just read the last line you typed and gave some general response to nothing...

If that isn't some automated system EA needs serious help. Hell if it is one they need serious help.

After some i thought about it for a few minutes i think she answered a nice question for me. I was wondering when my pc version would arrive in the mail. So it will either arrive on release date or i can just download it. DOWNLOAD. She loved that word.

OP is why I pre order from local stores only. If you get incompetence there, at least you can put a face on it.

I almost feel bad for that EA rep, the US doesn't need a higher % of unemployed folks :x

As much as I love EA bashing, I don't expect competance from people working minimum wage jobs answering phones, You pretty much have to assume they don't care/don't know what they are talking about ahead of time and hold their hand through things.

It almost seemed like you were communicating with a chatterbot.  Reminded me of something like Eliza (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ELIZA)

If this hypothesis is correct, does this mean that the EA has programmed something that successfully passed the Turing Test?  Perhaps we shouldn't be sad, but happy to witness a glorious day for artificial intelligence.

Like I said I had a $15 off coupon to the EA Store and only reason I went through them. Hell I know I've been in between jobs because of lack of transition assistance from the Army and VA, jobs are scarce as is and even moreso for me with my legs the way they are now and my anxiety and paranoia and inability to function amongst lots of people(depressing I know), I'm just a whole bag of all ****ed up lol, so I'm going back to school to get some education on the tech side of web design/scripting etc, I know the art side of digital graphics and have college education with that but ultimately I'll probably end up doing freelance telecommute work from home, hard to explain I just, my mind is not what it used to be and neither is my body after Afghanistan so I'm just trying to adapt the best I can you know?

Well I agree and disagree with you, in the service my last pay grade was E-4 Specialist, and minus housing and food allowances when I was married I made approx 20K a year and thats pushing it, it seemed more like with tax and such 17-18K a year, that aint much, but consider the job and deployment and risks involved, I busted my ass every day because it wasnt about the pay it was being dedicated, and that sense of honor and duty, so I guess it depends on the person and the job.

I could too but something tells me from previous exp that she was just out of her element, why I prefer chat?
Hard of hearing, plus clashing of dialect with outsourced telephone agents.

Okay..I have seen some bad customer service..but how did this person even get hired?!?!

I mean what was the interview process like?

Hiree: So what is your knowledge of computer and console gaming?

Applicant: I know a lot about computer consoles.

Hiree: No, my question was what do you know of computers AND console gaming systems.

Applicant: I am quite knowledged on console computers and their gaming mechanisms.

Hiree: Huh? Right..so forget that question. What experience do you have with Xbox 360?

Applicant: I have a lot of experience I had been downloading PC games for my Xbox 360 since it was released back in 1990.

Hiree: Do what? You know..forget it..when can you start?

Applicant: When can I start what?

Hiree: The job....

Applicant: Oh I can start last week..but first I must beat Dragon Age: Origins that I downloaded on my Nintendo DS for my PC that I will use on my 360...

Hiree: *facepalm*
