Hey all,

Just recently got NWN2 off of Steam.  Surprised it took me so long to buy it since I thoroughly enjoyed NWN.

Anyways, a friend of mine had suggested I download the Dispel Magic Hakpak as it was needed to "fix" NWN2.  I noticed, though, that the the Hakpak was made back in 2007 and am wondering if it's still needed; maybe a patch has fixed this since then?

Thanks.  :)

No, that issue hasn't been fixed after all this time, which is hilarious as it would take about 5 mins to do. A few other haks also fix this issue though so you might not need that, namely Kaedrin's PRC pack and Reeron's spell fixes.

Link, pls?

if its what I'm thinking of, there are better hakpaks or more accurately, Override paks that fix up spells and other things in NWN2. Unfortunately the basic game has a lot of bugs that the developers didn't get a chance to fix - however, most can be fixed with downloads from NWVault, for those willing to put the time and effort doing so.

Although some will cringe when I say this, using Kaedrin's PrC Pack v1.40.4 will fix many, many spells and other issues, as well as adding a plethora of extra classes.

And an hour spent looking through Essential Add-On's and Hak's is, in my estimation, well worth it.

Thanks for the replies.  I'll take a look at those.

The Hakpak he had suggested was this one:
Fix for Dispel Magic

Edit:  Feel kind of stupid for not seeing that essential list earlier -_-

( wait'll you read this )

k, just like to point out some things i noticed (but didn't check for sure)

it seems to contain a file called spells.2da, which as you can imagine is an important file; it's sort of an overview for all spells in the game. both Reeron's and Kaedrin's paks also include their own versions of spells.2da (Kaedrin's uses player1's Spell Fixes, btw!).

player1 has adapted the hak you were looking at and called it Radial_Dispels, to be compatible with his own spells.2da no doubt.

which leads us back to Kaedrin ..

The originals were apparently made compatible with Reeron's.

i'm so confused .. Enjoy!

edit - just pick something and go with it, MD, the game plays fine :)
