Also, mages seem to be integral to the main story AND they have the DA:O Amell connection.

Never thought of it like that. Already have a brother. Can't imagine what it's like to have a sister.
Don't think a video game would be the best place to go to find out, but it'd be...an experience.

I almost always roll a warrior at my first playthrough. I find them easier to play, although I prefer mages, but it takes time to learn their controls.

Yup - only sword & shield and 2Hander warriors. I know this, because the reveal cemented my decision to switch to playing a rogue over a warrior. The later reveal that your sibling was class-specific then switched me to playing a mage, haha.biostarfan wrote...
you really can't have dual weapons with warrior?
@Soul Cool - Yea, I always found the idea of having a brother appealing, and this is the first RPG I can think of where you can get one that'll (presumably) be a major character.

I'd have most likely started out as a mage, but you can't play as a mage unless you want Bethany to die so that's out.
I agree so my first time will be Fem Warrior then Fem mage .

Also, I like the idea of Mages saving the world/becoming Champions. Give 'em something positive to focus on. Hopefully.

I've got both a brother and a sister, so I can choose freely:P
Seriously, I prefer to have Bethany, I'd love to protect my little apostate sister from devil templars:devil:, plus my brother will play a mage hawke, so it's better to me to play a different class. I love how mage is handled in DA2, but I prefer to have some experience in the building, my brother will do a perfect testB)

Mage. I never liked being one in Origins but from what I've seen so far the class should be more interesting to play in 2.
My Warden was a warrior for the sake of roleplaying more than anything else.
Not really sure. I want to go with a Mage but if I dont have an option of something similar to an Arcane Warrior as a specialty, then it'll probably be Warrior first. Rogue second, and Mage third. I love me some Battlemages lol.

Don't think there will be an AW spec, but the mage could now fight in a similar way, at least in a visual way, especialy with the Staff of Parthalan. They don't do great damage withe melee damage, but you can make you mage a melee fighter, in the sense that you can fight in close combat, with basic melee damage. I'd try some time the AW in DAO, and I find myself using a lot the spell, so for me how they made the mage in DA2 it's ok^_^Aradace wrote...
