Rogue, just 'cause I can. Mage amell as canon for the family link but don't really want mages to save the world all the time, plus the sarcastic jerk that I am seems to fit better with a rogue.

Mage. Why? Cause of "Light Shadow Mass Destruction!"

LOL! No, I love mages. I like magic and runing around like Dumbledor destroying those causing chaos... What's better than a fist full of lightning?

Mage. I never liked being one in Origins but from what I've seen so far the class should be more interesting to play in 2.

My Warden was a warrior for the sake of roleplaying more than anything else.

Not really sure.  I want to go with a Mage but if I dont have an option of something similar to an Arcane Warrior as a specialty, then it'll probably be Warrior first.  Rogue second, and Mage third.  I love me some Battlemages lol.

Don't think there will be an AW spec, but the mage could now fight in a similar way, at least in a visual way, especialy with the Staff of Parthalan. They don't do great damage withe melee damage, but you can make you mage a melee fighter, in the sense that you can fight in close combat, with basic melee damage. I'd try some time the AW in DAO, and I find myself using a lot the spell, so for me how they made the mage in DA2 it's ok^_^

Good enough I say lol...As for me, my AW always consisted of the spells that didnt require me to sheath my weapon to cast.  Example: 4-5 enemies come running in and I cast Stinging Swarm on the first enemy.  While it's chipping away at it, Im melee'ing the hell out of it.  And when the first mob finally dies, the swarm migrates over to the next mob.  Lather, rinse, repeat for the most part.  Except for the times when I used Walking Virulent bomb on said first mob and/or Blood Wound lol.  Elites/higher I'd start off with Crushing Prision and then stack Stinging Swarm etc.  I think one gets the general idea I think heh.

But yea, as long as I can "spec" him to be a "battlemage" then I think I'll be fine.  And as you pointed out, especially with the Staff of Parthalan.

I'll roll with a female mage first ;)

Usually I play as a warrior on my first playthrough but since I'd rather have Carver survive (yes, yes. We don't know anything about our syblings etc. but I think there's more to him than a derpy face) I'll try diferent things this time around.

Still not sure which of my Wardens I'll import. I'm temped to pick my female mage because of the family connections (more than likely distant but still).

I have finally decided that I will be running a female rogue first, followed by a mage mage. It took some agonising over this decision.

I'm a huge mage fan, but warrior actually looks fun in DA2. It's quite the dilemma, but I think I'll give warrior a shot first.

Probably male mage, simply because I usually start out with a female rogue.

Truthfully though, that is probably a lie. I always start female rogue first. Despite all intentions to go all willy-nilly and try something new *first* (even though i know I will eventually play most options unless the game just really sucks for re-playability) it is probably just wishful thinking.

I may actually create some appearance mods in this one, if it is do-able ( I assume it will be, like DA or ME ) And without the funky chinese takeout box hats, mage may be fun!

I am trying not to read TOO much about this story line though. I read too much about DA and it took some of the suspense out of the story. I regretted that later.

Well if they would have given you a chance to use any race for your main character and implemented unarmed combat, I would have gone with a dwarven Silent Sister. The only known monks in the game, there is one in the second prequel novel.

I want to play a female first and typically I play a mage first. However, since Bethany is a female mage and you can switch between characters, I will likely do a female rogue first.

I always start with a mage, for one I love magic and also it is just much easier the first time around if you can heal, which gives me more time to focus on companions and story.

Mage, and I'll play as a mage until I discover that I can't equip them with a sword, then I'm switching to a Rogue and pretend that I'm a ninja the entire time.

I admire Silent Sisters as well, but they are not monks as far as I know....

I will definitely have a playthrough of each class and at least one male and one female playthrough. Also want to check out all the 'tones' in the game (diplomatic, sarcasitc, aggressive).

I'm going to have my first playthrough as a male mage though. I usually despise mages in games (I don't like squishy characters), but I think the idea of being related to the human mage in Origins will be interesting (esp with my mage in Origins). Plus, I like Sebastian and Isabela, and two rogues are kind of redundant. I also want to have Carver in my party, so I can have a brother rivalry (especially with the apostate mage thing...I'd love to see what will happen with Carver as far as that goes). Tone wise, I'm leaning towards sarcastic, I know there will be some hilarious punch-lines with that one.

I'm also thinking of a female sword and board warrior (didn't have a female s/s character yet) that has an aggressive attitude. We'll see when the game comes out. But for now, Mage ManHawke will be my first : )

Definitely rogue. High mobility, high damage, stealth, dirty fighting tactics, not a magic user, and the opportunity to wield a ranged weapon as well ? Yup, I like all of that.

Female Rouge. Walking past locked door and chest drives me crazy even if it's just in the beginning of the story. Also, it looks like I'll be able to jump about like a ninja and that's awesome :3
