It rings very true for me. I love these games for the stories they tell. That's as, if not more, important for me as the gameplay. Some people don't care about that. They just want nonstop action. Yeah that quote is very true we all know Bioware's writing is top notch its something everyone pretty much expects when they pick up a copy of any game made by Bioware but the games are becoming more "Chick flicks" so to speak.

Yes i know girls enjoy getting just as bloody as the boys i play WoW i know girl gamers exist and i know they can game just as well but can we get back to killing some monsters and stop trying to woo everything and everyone.

Sounds like your typical dude gamer who enjoys the games like GoW - not trying to bash them - for the excessive violence and blood.



As a seventeen year old guy, I'm not really an avid FPS gamer, besides Halo, because I just don't find the gameplay or story interesting.



For that guy to say that DA is just for dudes is kind of...well, dumb. Alot of my friends play DA, and loved it, and have already preordered the second one. I think it's just a matter of an opinion. And that fact that woman enjoy the game as well is just another reason why the game is so good, since it can appeal to such a wide audience.

And diversity is a good thing.  There are different kind of games.  Some are just that, build over game mechanics only and it's fine.  But should you use a kind of videogame to diminish a person base on the gender ?  This game is for XXXXXX I can't play because it will hurt the image of my XXXXXhood to other people.

The OP was doing her job and wanted to give her personal opinon about good games, but that guy denied her choice because she was a woman and women can only like games made specificly for women.   If he had said, "Well I just don't like RPGs" it would have been fine.

For the original post: Interesting story. I chalk up the person's attitude towards the Dragon Age franchise as the usual ability for people to take something complex and categorize it into something simplistic.



And now I think I'll join Negix in trying to find a safe place to hide. I'm thinking fallout shelter.

I love how you insult people who play WoW and shooting games, because i mean once you play one of the other you're stuck with that choice the rest of your life right its not possible you could play a shooting game Dragon age AND WoW.



Dragon Age is wonderful dont get me wrong but its not exactly fresh when compared to other titles Bioware has made.

lol, its true a lot of women do play Dragon age, which is only to the male genders benefit. Women playing a game with massive amounts of blood and dirty jokes.



I think its because its sorta like reading a book, less focused on game play, a good way for casual female gamers to get into RPGs, and since the combat is turn based and made by bioware hard core female gamers also like it.
