Is this a good thing for a customer to completly dismiss the opinion of a clerk base on the clerk's gender ?

I think the clerk should stop giving a **** what he thinks he said it was girly and clearly he did not care what anyone was about to say. Nothing was going to change his mind on his opnion. She chose to continue the conversation she could have easily smiled and suggested another game instead of trying to sway his opinion.

I said "before you spread your legs and thrust your vaginas at me in protest for writing this post"

I guess that disclaimer wasn't enough...

No, but I hope the moderators will find a suitable large banhammer to thrust at you for making statements of that nature at female members of this site.

*Reports post*.

I made no worse statements about female members to this site, any more so than the OP made statements towards male members of this site.  You would need to report the OPs post as well, or obviously be a hypocrite.

Now that I have your attention, I will
inform you that yes I am a woman, and before you thrust your penises at me in protest for luring you to this topic, I have a story, and a question for you that relates to Dragon Age II and my gender.

To the man who dropped his balls on my counter and proclaimed that Dragon Age was just not manly enough for him I can say is this...

SHUT UP WOMAN... GET ON MY HAWKE!

What do you call this post here ^ imported_beer?  How is this appropriate, but my post is not?  How is my post misogynistic, but the OPs posts are not misandric?

While I would anticipate this would be an unnecessary post, let me point out that misogyny (and, for that matter, misandry) is not something we tolerate on these forums.

If you can make your point without resorting to either of those things, great!

If not, you will not be welcome here.

I'll get hung for this but what the hell. The OP is clearly harboring a grudge. So Phantom Actuality is not entirely off base here.

Really. So she says something about a specific consumer. And you think it is fine to make misogynistic comments to all women on the forum as a response?

Maybe it was the whole penis thrusting bit, I dunno. She's brought up an important topic though.

Of course we couldn't just have a civil, light-hearted discussion.  <_<

You poor dear, all these mean women picking on you.

Women and ladyboys, if you please.

Shhhhhh.  The idea that men may have vaginas and women may have penises might cause his head to explode.  Then the forum mods have brains to clean up.  That does not come out of the carpet very well.  People who are neither or both?  It destroys the world.

Phantom: That's not a disclaimer, that's painting a target on yourself.

Humm... So, I'm a man. And I like stories. I like reading them, watching them, hearing them and living them when possible. RPG and adventure games usually offer the best stories in games, so I prefer them. A lot of stories have romance. I like romance (OH GOD, I'M NOT A MAN ANYMORE).

I don't think DA is for girls.

That's it.

P.S: Oh, I also love a lot of shooters and some sports games. I must be weird.

I'm fine with some romance in the game, but most of the stuff you see around the forums are "romance support groups" or suggestions for romance or other stuff.

I cant be the only one whos more interested in the plot of the game then who our romance options are.

If the next dragon age came out and they announced it would have no Li this time around, would you pass on it or buy it?

I would love to play DA with a woman, I just have to hit her over the head and capture her and bring her back to the cave. If I show her dragon age you think she will stay when she wakes up from her coma?

True, but when you are angry, you're not always making the best choice.  Maybe she should ask what type of game the customer like, but what is done is done.  But his attitude was wrong.  Respect goes both way.

The difference being that you had nothing to disclaim, apart from the disclaimer, which makes it pretty useless as a disclaimer.

That's what a company would like their clerks to do in this situation, but not all people can be bothered with that.

What i'm saying is, i just hope the game never gets to the point where something like romance makes or breaks the game. I'd take more difficult choices that impact the game world in a deep way over being able to romance some dwarf or some elf that wont matter at all next game.

DA is clearly a "girl" game. Duncan, Alistair and Zevran are obvious femme fan service. Innumerable panties have been utterly drenched at the mere glimpse of Duncan's beard and even the faintest utterance of Zevran's voice.

The romances wont keep you from doing any of that.

Then report her post instead of coming here and insulting women who have not made comments of that nature to your gender. It would have been a perfectly understandable thing to do.

What was happening here was a discussion on why some men think that, and what constitutes stereotypical manliness. What was happening here was mockery of the stereotype that men ought to behave in only one way to be considered manly, be it in games or in real life. What was happening here was certainly not mockery of all men, their body parts or anything of that nature.

But you came here and directed that comment against all the women (and men here) who were not proponents of misandry. That was my problem with it.

--------------------

My reluctance to come to these BSN forums even though I was a regular in the old Bioware forums is precisely for this reason. My simple philosophy- treat developers, and fellow forumites with some respect, and take a disagreement or a difference of opinion either to PM or to a moderator instead of lashing out here. To get unreasonable and ...impolite about things and with people here seems pointless to me. And yet each time I come here, someone gets unduly upset about things that can be dealt with in a sensible, polite manner.

So, I'm a man. Now before you waggle your figures in a disapproving manor as I'm not a Varric-level man, let me share with you a story.

Today, I went for a walk in the park. I then fed the ducks. They made quacking sounds. I then scowled at pidgeons and refused to feed them as they are not as pretty as teh ducks, and they also annoyed my friend Shale. The sun was shiningy in the blue ceiling area I call the sky. The grass was the color of grass, and it was pleasent to sit on. The End.

I LIKE PENGUINS...... BUT THEY CANNOT FLY
