I've run into a strange problem. I am trapped on the island of the werewolves and wolfweres. I have cleared out all the non-respawning beasts from the north of the island, including the entire shipwreck, and completed all side quests (except for the Sirene, see below). However when I return to Kaishas Dan to tell her I've done the duty, she keeps asking me if I completed the task and the only answer the game gives me is that I'm still working on it. I've returned to the North of the island many times, and I end up killing the respawning creatures over and over again. I'm critically low on missiles and arrows so I'm trying to use just melee weapons. But the game refuses to acknowledge that I've finished the quest.

What have I missed here?

Simultaneously, that one man (Eltan?) sent me on the quest to kill the Sirene witch, but when I look for her out on the sandbar there is nothing there. I have not seen a Sirene anywhere, day or night, on the island, and have crisscrossed it many times. Is this a bug?

This should probably be in the spoilers section.

I already spoke to all of them. I think it's some kind of bug, wherein it's stuck because the Sirene never appears so I can't finish that quest. I had to start over from an earlier save and complete the quests front-forwards, as several quests were completed backwards and things must have gotten messed up.

Is your game patched (5+1 or 4-in-1 disk sets are not but 3 disk is. Not sure about disk-less packages...)

I wasn't sure whether I needed patches or not. The version I have is the 4-in-1 box set of Baldurs Gate + Tales of the Sword Coast + BGII Shoadws of Amn + Throne of Bhaal. Having researched the patches my understanding is that in order for them to take effect I'd have to start the game from scratch is that right? (Not an option for me, I've come too far.)

Now that I started the Isle of Werewolves shipwreck adventure over again, I'm completing each of the quests forwards -- this time I was able to complete the Sirene quest. But I am just now getting into the shipwreck and I've come upon another bug that didn't happen the first time around. The movie that shows an establishing shot of the shipwreck keeps looping over and over every 4-5 seconds while I'm inside the ship. It's REALLY annoying, and there is no way to stop it. I saw there was a fix for this somewhere but lost track of it. Anyway if the fix requires I start the game over from scratch it's not going to help. Any advice?? Thanks guys!

You can patch at any time, however any broken quests would not be fixed. From what you have just said I would patch and restart the island for a third time.

You only need the TotSC patch (5512 from memory), don't install the directx patch or the BG patch.

Can you direct me as to the location of the patch you mean? I'd be greatly obliged!

I already went through the island a second time, this time I had to muscle through the shipwreck's first floor bug with the intro movie looping every 2 seconds... But I cleared out the shipwreck and the rest of the north side of the island. Now I found ANOTHER bug... I haven't gotten back to Kaishas yet... I just was passing Delainy so I gave her the cloak, and she sent me on the quest to go skipping around collecting flowers for her. I returned with the flowers, and she doesn't acknowledge that I have them, instead she's telling me to fetch the cloak again, which I already gave her. It didn't do this the first time around either -- I was able to give her the flowers, flirt a little, and she wandered off.

This isle is just packed with bugs.

I have never had any problem with it, so I suggest the following possibilities.

1) Game needs patching.

2) You have a faulty installation , perhaps due to scratched disc.

Unfortunately the official site for the patches has taken them down. So either you employ google and trust whatever you find - or you post your email adress and trust that whatever somebody sends you is not a hard drive eating monster-virus.

Yes, the official site now says you can have a 16 player networked game. haha

Anyway, try this link, you want the Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast Patches

Wow, it just keeps getting better for me. I did talk to Kaishas and, like round 1, she still will not acknowledge that I killed all the beasts. This time I completed more than what I was able to the first time, and I did so frontwards (such as talking to the little girl before finding her doll), and I actually ran into more bugs than I did in round 1.

I'm not sure I want to try this a third time, I'm getting tired of the Isle of werewolves. I may have to ditch the whole quest. When I played this game years ago on the Mac I didn't have any of these problems. I'm now playing it on Windows 7, but you'd think this 4-in-1 box set of DVD ROMs would have included many of the fixes that came out over the years.

Before I move on, does anyone know a way of completing the Werewolf island without getting Kaishas to change her position?

Thanks Gate70, I'll give that a shot.

FYI, just for kicks I had tried attacking Kaishas and after several misses she walks out the door and disappeared, and now she's nowhere to be found. Sheesh.

You mean without you having to kill her at the end?
SCS has a component to avoid the battle, but it's not for pure BG1. You'd need either Tutu or BGT to use it.

Gate70, that patch was exactly what I needed. It fixed everything. I had to start the Isle over again a third time, but it went pretty quickly since I knew what to do, and all bugs were addressed. Thanks for the tip! Moving along now...

Definitely an attack of the global variable bug. Kind of annoying that Biowire isn't keeping a patch site up.
