I am making a campaign. My first module is my "base".  This is also the module i test all my recipes in before i place then in game. Also i am using TlkEdit2 to edit .2da.

I have made some changes to a few of the formulas. I have changed the cost of  some grenadelike weapons. I also have made changes to the AC +1 Enchantment in which i added an essence as a requirement( my way of throttling unlimited enchanting) . Both of these recipes were modified in my starting "base" module. The same module i test in and the module in which most crafting should take place.  Everything worked fine.

i am on the 4th module now. I have already done some testing in this module using the first module to get to this module. I have recently changed more recipes. This includes adding a recipe for Arrows +1. For this recipe i copied a Posion arrow recipe, i then changed the tags and name. Edited the recipe text in notepad  and pasted it to the new recipe. I changed the crafting ranks needed to 4. I removed the required ingredients and added 1 obsidian as the item requirement and changed the gold amount to 75.

I then added a new recipe to the bottom of the crafting.2da this was on line 847 after the padding. I added all the relevant information from the recipe tage to the sound tag.

The second recipe was the edit of a current recipe . The changes made to this recipe( Amulet of Natural Armor +1) is i  changed  the trent twigs to  an essence and i lowered the gold cost to 600.

When i tested the arrow recipe nothing happened but " Uses Unique Item" . When i tested the Amulet( second) recipe it told me  trent twigs were missing.  So i brought up the .2da editor and the toolset. I  baked  complied and saved both the 4th module and the 1st module. I removed the recipes from my test chest in the first module and put new copies in just to make sure. Same problem.

I am not understanding what the problem is. I have triple checked the 2da and  recipes for errors. Everything is correct. Everything is in the campaign folder and the recipes are set as campaign recipes.  In the case of the Amulet recipe i just editted a recipe sometime i have done before in this campaign though i did so in the first module. I had no problems with my first edits. But suddenly it is a problem.

Any suggestions?

Is your override folder empty? Maybe there is a mod with a different version of crafting.2da? To be safe empty your override folder.

Also, you mention baking, but I don't think you are describing anything that requires baking, so you are just wasting your time with that. Baking is only needed when altering the walkmesh. 2da edits, creating campaign items, modifying scripts... none of that requires re-baking.

It sounds like you are saving frequently, but just in case I'll mention that there is an oddity with the toolset and campaign items. If you change a campaign script or conversation you do not need to save the module. But if you modify a campaign item or create a new campaign item you do need to save the module or the item UTI files will not be updated in the campaign folder properly. I've been burned by this.

Well i compile bake and save out of habit before i test things in game( i typically test areas and their contents at the same time. Recipes and scripts are the only thing i test individually before i place them in game). It is a habit i just got into so most of the time its not necessary but i do it anyway. My pc is rather high end and i can bake even a large area in less than 30 seconds.

The problem was with my override folder. When you mentioned the override folder, I remembered before my christmas break i was playing around with another module using a different version of crafting 2da. Removing the other crafting 2da from the folder did the trick everything works fine now.

......Its always something stupid. And you should apply for a job at Bioware... i can give you a reference lol.
