Why is the ranged attacker between the monster and the melee fighter, instead of the melee fighter in the middle?
"Step aside kid, I got this."
"Damn, he got rubble all over my coat".

hmm, the description reminds me of the Gangue Shade from DAO (you know, the shade you could confront in the Dead Trenches by clicking a statue with full Dead legion armor equipped?), which too was said to represent the 'corruption' in the stone.
On a related note, how is it even possible for dwarves to become undead if they have no magical ability? Let alone possessed by demons (see the calling), seeing as they have no connection to the fade. I was under the impression that all 'undead' beings were merely things possessed by demons or actual demons. It seems like there's something vital bit of info missing.

I like the description of this creature, but I'd prefer to be glowing blue than red. Somehow it reminds me the Human Reaper

It’s weird, all the concept art from DA 2 looks great, hence the final in-game screenshots are not totally convincing.

dwarves can be *forced* into the fade though...might be something to do with their lyrium resistance, besides we fought loads of dwarves spirits in ortan thaig and in bownammar.

Probably because the pics they give us aren't final version.
Just a thought.

That's just it, though, how could all those spirits exist? And how did a dwarf in ortan thaig bargain with a sloth demon, thus becoming possessed? Unless a tevinter magister visiting the dwarven thaigs now and then suddenly decided to try and force dwarves into the fade so they could get possessed, I don't see how it works.

The quality of the screenshots varies quite a bit. It is like Bioware is just randomly taking shots of every build and throwing them out there all at once.
I wouldn't be surprised if the screenshosts are from different builds. I imagine some locations, characters, monsters, etc. are finalized in some builds and not others.Atakuma wrote...

even if they're ghosts however, these dwarven spectres are still in the mortal world and not in the fade.
just because they can't (normally) enter the fade doesn't mean they can't manifest themselves after death in the mortal world.

No rush or anything, but I am assuming Mr. Rock Wraith here, cool as he looks, exists to be ...killed because he is not going to talk, be a companion, give me a quest, or be a merchant. That limits the interaction.

I didn't say he wasn't unimportant, or I would have criticized the update. I merely requested, that they consider a character or area reveal the next time. The last character reveal was nearly a month ago, and the last area reveal even before that if I recall. You spend more time with people and in areas so that gives me a better sense of the world than a monster who is found in just one type of area.Dave of Canada wrote...
But an enemy still represents the game. Just because you can't sleep with it or befriend it doesn't mean it isn't important.

I find it interesting, especially thematically. I hope the Deep Roads in DA2 is less just darkspawn and more haunted with haunted ruins, eerie sounds, mysterious of the past to be uncovered, etc.

Anyone else think of this being related to Varric's personal quest when they read the info? After all Varric's job does including listening for rumours and such. Perhaps something happened to his brother.
