It reminds me of Skull Kid, for some reason. Three days, three days, three days.

There's only three days left for people to sign up for the signature edition.

Ahm. I'm sure there's a perfect good reason for that.

It's more original than a vampire. It's not lame like a unicorn. It's not a Stone Golem.

There is a degree of originality here.

I am pleased,

Shame on me, a week ago, I wouldn't have understood that reference ^^. Then someone created a thread about the new Nicolas Cage movie. Then I checked out the trailer in which Cage says "we're gonna need more Holly water !'. Then I read the comments under the video and one stated that it was a very "we're gonna need a bigger boat" moment. Then I googled "we're gonna need a bigger boat" and discovered the Jaws scene. Then a few days passed. Then I read this thread and understood your reference. Then I put an end to that paragraph and set myself on fire.

WHERE THE HECK IS MY OCARINA? WE'RE SO DOOMED WITH OUT IT!

Rock Wraith looks really neat. I've seen everyone saying it reminds of them of the Storm Atronach from Oblivion. I'm thinking the Wraiths from Overlord that would put them selves together right in front of you right before they started slaughtering your minions.

I guess but floating rocks to form a monster were used before. It's sort of a common thing in fantasy settings.

Goofy, what the heck are you people talking about? That's insanely cool. It's been a long time since I last saw a monster design that was half as neat, mystical, intriguing and dangerous as that one. Your typical humanoids such as orcs, ogres, werewolves etc are so insanely commonplace to anyone who's done fantasy for two decades, that they carry none of the terror of the unknown they were originally meant to. They're just meat for the grinder, little more.

This thing right here, this is more. And the concept art showing how the stone forms around it, even creating a sort of a spiked ball of death there is so unusual and weird that it adds exactly that spice of unknown danger that fantasy games need.

I love that concept, nevermind if it seems odd in the DA world. I'm in no position to criticize anyway, didn't create the game. And some freedom is always necessary to create the spectacular.

It's not a never-seen-before creation no, but hardly "common" by any means either. And this particular design here works far better than your usual soft-edged and fluffy designs, such as the one proposed in .Hack above.

It would be pretty cool if that was the result of people who succumb to their lyrium addictions. But that's just my thoughts.

Question: the description says that the Rock Wraiths come from "dwarves so corrupt that even the Stone rejects them". Does this corruption have to do with the blight? (IE dwarves that ate darkspawn taint)

No. The guy you see in the screenshot is Bhelen.

I hope this creature makes for an exciting fight where it uses its multiple forms to gain different strengths and weaknesses and different abilities. As opposed to it just being another "face each other, hack away until one dies" situation.

it looks pretty cool, although I probably would've chosen Stone Wraith rather than Rock Wraith but that's just me:).

also, does anyone else find it somewhat strange that you can kill a ghost-like creature or a golem with a sword. I would think that the sword would either go right through it or break on impact:P.

I'll just pretend that the Rock Wraiths(Stone Wraith would been much better) are those stone aliens from Galaxy Quest.

I'd think Deep Stalker would be a pretty cool name for them, unfortunately it's already assigned to those little mole raptors.
