Some games for the PS 3 have to be installed first.
Is this the case for DA 2? I don't mind deleting some games, but since I still want to replay some of them I rather don't.

And I have a second question.
Is there a limited number of Hawke's I can make like in Origins? Or can I pretty much keep making new Hawke's if I have the space for it? This is kind of an important question because in Origins I needed to delete some of my characters if I wanted to start a new playthrough.

I'll get it for PS3 as well as PC. I hope it does require installation for loading times.

So loading would have been longer in Origins if not installed!?

Image IPBImage IPBWell, I'm not a tech expert and loading times are probably affected by more than just installation, but I've heard that when games are installed the load times are shorter.

Ah...Thanks for clearing that up.
Though now I don't know what I want.

I would at least like to know how much space DA 2 would take up, so I can see if I have it available on my PS 3. Anyone know if there is a dev I could PM about it?

It only takes up 7 gb on the pc, so I think around that size.

I doubt they would require a full game installation. . .At least for the PS3, I can't think of many games that required it or gave the option.

You'll probably have a hopefully sub 500 mb install. . .most games require it. You can delete old installs you know.

Most games for console I played didn't, you only had to make a save file.

I know, that's why I asked.
So I would have an idea what I should delete.

Okay. Now I have no idea what you are talking about. Save files are different from booting up the game. Unless you're talking about digital download from XBL or PSN?

You know, you can delete the game data without deleting the saves along with them. Then, you can always just reinstall the game and the saves will still work. That way you can make space for new games and still be able to pick up later.

Unless that's not entirely what you mean.

Until this generation of consoles we haven't had to install games before,  but now, as consoles become more and more like computers installation is possible. Most games it is still optional,  but the larger games... or at least games with more options seem to require it to be installed directly onto the hardrive now.

Optical drive are always slower and the blu-ray drive is even slower then a DVD drive. That's why it's better the game to be installed.

Not a console user I imagine? Since the PS3 and the big Xbox 360 update, most of the bigger games will require an install (atleast of ps3, most 360 games are optional).

I'm just hoping that the game performance is equal on both consoles. I have DA:O for 360, and I just got DA:O Ultimate for PS3. I think the game looks and sounds much better on PS3 but it does stutter and lag during battles, and the "saving game don't turn off your console" notification remains on screen way too long and can be distracting - issues that the 360 version didn't have. I pre-ordered both versions with the plan to keep the PS3 one based on the graphics and audio improvements on Origins, but if performance is still an issue I'll keep the 360 version.

Did I misread your question?  I'm sorry...  kind of dense sometimes.

I've send Mike Laidlaw a message asking about this.
And he said that there is still a save cap, but he does not know if the game needs to be installed.

We had ten before right?
I've send him a message about that too, but haven't heard his reply.

I've never installed a game on either of my consoles, but I might install Fable III. It makes my Xbox make demonic noises :(
