Stuck on Jerro's Heaven

I've read these 2 walkthrough http://www.gamebansh...jerroshaven.php and http://www.thieves-g...ndex.php?pid=42 and they simply say that I have to activate the book, then read it to see some words about the book powers. I have 24 in lore and +24INT, but still if I activate the book, I just read the "this is an ancient book, there are something written in a strange language" and nothing more. Ideas, please?

If you are getting attached to Shandra (sounds like you are) and you also have MotB and SoZ installed (which you should) then before you go much further I suggest you consider installing the OC Makeover SoZ Edition. It gives you some options with Shandra that the OC does not. It doesn't remove any of the OC options, just adds to them. You can install the Makeover with an existing game. You don't have to start over. But if you go much further in the Haven then you will pass the point where Shandra's options would be useful to have. I'd say more, but I know you'd rather find things out without spoilers. I'll just say that I wrote the Makeover because I was disappointed in the OC plotline.

@ metatheurgist: I click on the "use special power" option, the chat window says "PC used the book special power" but when I open to "examine" the book again, I see only the things that were written before :-(

@ Kaldor: that sounds interesting. I just have OC and MotB, I am thinking about buying also SoZ for the toolset options than for the game (a completely party by me, like in the IWD series... no, thanks), but I has not been able yet to find it in a shop. They told me to come back after the sales period. Does the Makeover works with only 1 expansion? Moreover: I am learning the toolset and the scripting for creating more contents in the OC... since you already had done a big work on this, can I contact you by PM for some hints?
The Makeover requires both MotB and SoZ be installed. It uses content from both and some scripts derived from SoZ. SoZ is well worth having. Hopefully your store will get a copy in.
You can PM me any questions you have. I can share information on the techniques I have used in the OC Makeover and soon-to-be-released MotB Makeover.

1) Open the inventory of the character with the book. Right Click the book and select "Activate Item", which should be option 2. This changes the mouse pointer to a circle with a "magic bolt" inside it. You won't see this if the mouse is still hovering over your inventory.
2) Move the mouse over the character that activated the book. The mouse pointer stays grey until you mouse over that character at which point it becomes colored. Left-Click to target.
3) A new dialog box should open that lets you read from the book.
The book can only be used by the character that actually has the book in their inventory, like a personal spell. Can't make it anymore clear than that.

You can get it from here, but it comes with the OC and MotB, not sure if you can buy SoZ separately, or if you can get it in Italian. 20 €.Vaalyah wrote...

@metateurgist: thank you for the step by step. Unfortunately, that was just what I did but no dialogue window shows up :-( I think it's definitely a bug. Well, I will finish the quest opening the gate in the other rooms. Thank you!

I know it's an old post, but I've recently had the same problem and since it isn't solved here and anywhere I've looked I've decided to find solution myself. I'm not good at scripting so it was quite a long search, but here's what you need to do to free the imp and progress further into the game:
1. Pause game and open console by pressing "`".
2. Type
DebugMode 1
rs 2640_book(3)
DebugMode 0
3. Close the console window. (with the "`")
It worked for me. Hope it helps anyone
Thanks! It works!
