They're hoods, mostly. I've seen a few skullcaps as well. No pointy hats, though.

If you look, at the first trailer theres a bunch of mages with black cloak's and metal masks

A traditional conical hat not unlike that of an iconic witch would have been fine with me. Origins style hats lacked a proper brim. That made them hideous. Hoods are a nice change if they look anything like the hoods in that Xbox Live avatar thread. Skullcaps I am less thrilled with, but it is still an improvement. Circlets would have been sweet if they left hair exposed. I will probably skip equipping hats despite what sound like vast improvements. I like to see my character's hair.

Totally agree i didn`t use them last time and wont use them this time .

We will be able to turn off any stupid hat designs so...whatever they may look like, it doesn't matter

That is too rogue to be a mage. If you remove the shoulder and leg armor, yes, perhaps. We wouldn't want our mages to be any less squishy now would we? They would be unstoppable*cough*Arcane Warrior*cough*

look at hawke's mage outfit (it's the one we see most of the time, like in the rise to power or destiny trailer), that looks even less squishier than the pic i put here.

Both of those would be awesome. I thought about tiaras earlier and decided not to mention them since I only want the small, jeweled variety and not those big honking hats. Then again they can pawn those off on male characters. I love that sort of headgear since it leaves hair face unobstructed.

I'm really bad about getting absorbed by them. It's why I try like mad to avoid them for any reason, even MMOFPS games. I'm not sure where the time goes, it's almost as bad as That Site Whose Name Cannot Be Said.
