That is too rogue to be a mage. If you remove the shoulder and leg armor, yes, perhaps. We wouldn't want our mages to be any less squishy now would we? They would be unstoppable*cough*Arcane Warrior*cough* :P

look at hawke's mage outfit (it's the one we see most of the time, like in the rise to power or destiny trailer), that looks even less squishier than the pic i put here.:?

Thanks to you, I watched the Destiny trailer again. God, is that friggin epic or what? I'm a bit disappointed that Garrett Hawke does not look as awesome as CGI Hawke. Perhaps customization/mods?

But I digress. Yeah, he does look pretty well covered. In metal, no less. I'm curious as to what the explanation for the 'metal fingers' is. What we should keep in mind is that Hawke did both warrior and mage moves in the trailer, so he could have worn anything and gotten away with it, and I do not recall a video or image of him appearing as a mage, so we should probably reserve judgement.

Stop tempting fate. Resistance is futile.

Edit: Okay I'm done. :P

Ha! Foiled again! Oh well.

Okay you win. I really have no clue how they're going to pretend everything will not fall before Hawke's awesomeness. That's not a bad thing either :P

I want top hats for mages.

I don't even know why though.

Aww, no more of the conical mage-hats. Well, at least I have skull-caps now, they have potential.

Another reason why "Arcanum" rocked. You could totally play a mage in a three piece suit with a top hat. If you played a technologist the hat even had defensive properties.

A suit, a tesla-rod and a chapeau of magnetic inversion.

Those three are needed.

"KILL ME FIRST, I HAZ TEH MAGICKZ!"

I could so imagine that being the reaction of the enemy leaders. 'Get her/him, the one with the wizard get-up!'

"Kill the Emissary!"

"You know, the pointy hat wearing, grey bearded guy with scars the shapes of things on his forehead and the Amulet of Somesuch, made from the bones of an ancient something. If that wasn't enough to identify him, he's hold a staff and has fire floating in his hand."

Though if the enemy took that long to say it, he'd be paralysed by Blood Wound before he got to the word "Grey"

Wouldn't hurt to have something on the lines of Diablo 2 Sorceress:

But with less skin showing in the thigh area. As a female gamer I don't feel the need to run around wearing floss but I'd rather not wear an ugly potato sack either. Not to even mention the hats, why are there no tiaras or headbands or something? Or decorated helmets that make the mage look scary and powerful instead of a nanny.

Same goes for leather armors. They were a tad...formless if that's even a word.

I'd settle for "Kill the pointy hat!" or something short. =P

It is, and they were. Very bland armors last game, but functional. Functional is good, but some coolness is nice.

Indeed. No need to go overboard with making floss with paddings or male armor with countless of metally spikes. But some coolness factor would in fact be very nice. To give the appearance of your character some of that "umph" so that people who meet him can actually go "woah". And I forgot my male wizard example. I'm not a guy so hard to say but this isn't too bad, is it?

Edit: Minus the clown thingies on the "skirt".

To quote World of Warcraft: "Foolsss... Kill the one in the dress!"

It would make sense if they did too. I mean, my main Warden was a dress wearer, and whenever he ran into another dress wearer amongst the enemy forces, that one got hit with Mana Clash before they could even cast a single spell... Amongst enemies, only the Architect seemed to have any semblence of sensibility, disabling my Warden and Anders with that stupid glyph whenever he could.
