Will there be silly mage hats and one model of leather in DA2?

They're hoods, mostly. I've seen a few skullcaps as well. No pointy hats, though.
There goes Rincewind Hawke.

No, sorry, never read him. Will look him up sometime, though. Might be, uh, interesting.MoogleNut wrote...

Indeed. No need to go overboard with making floss with paddings or male armor with countless of metally spikes. But some coolness factor would in fact be very nice. To give the appearance of your character some of that "umph" so that people who meet him can actually go "woah". And I forgot my male wizard example. I'm not a guy so hard to say but this isn't too bad, is it?
Edit: Minus the clown thingies on the "skirt".

Not bad, but I'd rather have something like this:
Pretty simple, with pouches for ingredient stuff on the belt and small spell scrolls, and possibly minus the tassles and extension thing on the front. No idea what it's called.. *nodnod*

There is nothing silly about pointy hats.

Now THAT is a hat fit for a mage.

I am excited to see hoods as I desperately wanted Morrigan to have one, as well as my rogue!

it's a term the developers themselves gave for the mage hats, funnily enough

Mage robes like Baldurs Gate had and Forgotten Realms Setting
Yeah, even if the models were tiny and 2D the equipment still looked pretty nice. The mage robes were spot on for both male/female.

That is indeed very nice, far better than my example. It's easy to go overboard with the design and end up with something that looks horribly cartoony. That looks mighty fine though.

I guess that the in the DA world, you can´t go with merlin hats and shooting beams out of your eyes, otherwise you would be quickly found by the templars. You gotta be sneaky and wear some hoods, so that no one see your face while you burn the houses with the children inside.
But it sounds like the head gear is going to be better this time round, which is good news for me as I mainly play mages (never used the hats in DAO)

I always assumed that ,making them wear ridiculous hats was just one of the ways in which the Chantry humiliated the mages.
Ridiculous hats that do not match ANY OF THE MAGE ROBES IN THE GAME IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER. I could have handled the goofiness of the mage conehead-or-napkin-placed-on-head hats if they'd changed color to match your robe. As it was, I wound up adopting a strict ONLY NPC'S WEAR STUPID HATS policy.
I'm just glad I didn't hat the Helm of Honnleath that much because it was BADASS.

Great to hear about the mage hats, honestly. Wynne was the only one I could bear fitting a hat onto. But I'd love to hear something about the leather hats.
