I did that on Eden Prime when I saw him taking off, I was like "I'm gunna have to fight that later... time to cry in the corner"Schneidend wrote...
Sovereign's whole presence was great. The first time he started talking to me I slowly went from ._. to D8

I guess when you hear harbinger about 50 times saying the same thing in a game, it's not going to be nearly as effective or terrifying.
Plus they were playing a little game with us, wanting us to think he was just this obnoxious git of a Collector, if a slightly tougher variety. The effect wears off on subsequent playthroughs, but when you first realize Harbinger's actually a Reaper, it does tend to change your perception of him fairly drastically, especially when you see him in the front line of the Reaper armada. Did for me anyway.

Instead he should have gotten away heavily damaged and slipped away before the Alliance fleet could smoke him. This would have improved ME2 plot greatly. In this alternate plot ME2 would be Shepard tracking down Sovereign who is trying to find an alternative root to bringing the repears back. In the end Shepard would have destroyed Sovereign but not before he activated some kind of device that allows the repears to return in a few years. This plot in my opinion would have been better because it ties in with ME1 alot more seemlessly and it makes more sense than ME2's plot.

I couldn't help but be disappointed by his death. ME2's main villain was nothing compared to ME1'sCheesy Blue wrote...
Yes. Sovereign was terrifying presence indeed. He was a fantastic villian. Personally I think he shouldn't have been destroyed in ME1.

ME2's main villain, or rather antagonist, was really TIM more than it was Harbinger.

Harbinger's... not so much. His was less "metallic & synthetic", & more "human voice with low pitch". A bit disappointing considering the threat he represents, & Sovi was done so well..

You know you can clearly see the Reaper hologram in the first cutscene the Collector General is revealed in? I noticed it immediately and was like "Aw f**k! Another Reaper."

No, Admiral Hackett has the coolest voice.
I have to agree. Sovereign is a very close second though.
And this... ( MAJOR SPOILER WARNING )
still gives me chills when ever I hear it.

okeer had the best voice
The voice change from Sovereign to Harbinger is similar for me to the change in elcor speech from ME1 to ME2.
ME2 elcor have an annoying sing-song pattern, always ending on a lower frequency which I'm not really keen on, whereas the ME1 elcor had more variations in their monotony (if that makes sense).
Similarly Sovereign's voice was a lot colder than Harbinger (apart from when he says "I am Sovereign and this station is mine!" - that was a little cheesy.), dare I say a lot more 'machine like'. There is something in the way Harbinger says some lines that just makes me not take it seriously, like okeer.
