Something other than guns. It'll probably be cliched, but as long as they focus on the emotional/thematic side of things, it'll be good.

I really don't think we can beat the Reapers. At least not in any conventional sense.

Bioware has kind of made them almost too powerful. They'll definitely have to think the ending through.

ME3 should have Harbinger as a potential LI!

And this guy has the best idea so far.

Galactic News Flash ==

Commander Shepard saves the galaxy. Again.

Yesterday, Shepard shipped huge quantities of Calamari Gumbo to the Reapers.

They all died from indigestion. Shepard credits the evil genius of mess sergeant Gardner for the recipe.

We can summon the carebears and they can show us the way to victory! Honestly, that idea is better than 99% of the all too overused endings.

Mass relays cannot be destroyed as far as we know. The Mu relay got hit by a supernova and was merely moved with not as much as a scratch on it.

And!? What else would a supernova do it? A supernova is just a metric ****-ton of radiation and a shock wave (what moved it, which is all it could do to it in space). It's not the same as say shooting it with like 40 thanix cannons or shooting it into a star.

On Topic: How can the Reapers be stopped? Decisive military victory. The reason the Reapers have been doing this for so long is the citadel sneak attack, because they force the people they're harvesting to focus their entire civilizations central government there, they can wipe it out, shut down the relay network, shut down communications, use all the census data, and start their centuries long purge before the people they've been invading are even aware they're under attack.

Not sure to be honest, but some suggestions:

1.Maybe the geth can upload a virus temporarily bewildering them

2. The Reapers have a weak spot in their design

3. Maybe when expose to ______ the Reapers become vulnerable

4. Maybe the Reapers kill each other off

5. Or maybe shepherd aboard a Reaper destroying the rest of them....

this actually does concern me. As how the reapers are has shoe-horned a deus ex machina type ending for ME3

which is trite. Looking forward to ME3 and the story wrapping up. But, imo, the method at which we defeat them is going to be trite and cliche..there's no other way I see them doing it.

hope bio proves me wrong..but I smell a Bruce Willis, Will Smith, Neo, etc type way to end it.

all hail deus ex machina

The scorched earth strategy.

The Reapers still have to fight their way across the galaxy after all. We will deprive them of ANY resources. Material or living.

The protheans' communications were cut before they had any idea they were under attack. By the time they found out, it was already too late. Shepard has bought some time. Even though the council officially dismissed his claims, Mordin thinks they just don't want to cause a panic and actually believe Shepard. In the meantime Cerberus is doing research on the Reapers. The civilization's biggest weapon is that they are probably the first to know about the Reaper invasion in advance, thanks to the protheans. They are prepared.

im quite sure the turian counsolir thinks shepard is insane.
Im not sure we can stop them, but even if we can, should we. really stop and think about it. They have ben doin this for millions of years. They must have a good reason

That's some pretty faulty reasoning don't you think?

Just because somebody has been doing something for a long time  doesn't mean that they're right.

The reapers are not as powerful as they make themselves out to be. As powerful as Sovereign was, it only managed to destroy a handful of ships before losing shields and with its almighty shields gone it was basically boned. Depending on your choices throughout the series, you will have a better result. Like in ME2, it WILL be possible to get a crapsack ending where the reapers win and everyone dies.

Of course all we have is speculation since BW sees it fit to torture us :). They say Nov 2011 now, But there will be a few bumps. There always are.

I'm in the middle of playing Bayonetta so I'm imagining my FemShep suplexing a Reaper then posing very sexually with colors flowing around behind her.

....

Yup that is how it should be. Definitely.

Reapers are nothing but huge space roaches. A planetary sized rolled up newspaper should do the job nicely.

Cerberus found that weapon that took out the derelict reaper. I am sure that will come into play.

THIS. Having just played the mission also the Illusive Man confirms in the dialogue that this weapon has been recovered by Cerberus and is being researched.

FYI:-

At some point, Cerberus
discovered the Derelict Reaper and dispatched a research team led by a
Dr. Chandana to study it. It is believed that 37 million years ago, an
unknown spacefaring race fired a mass accelerator round of incredible
speed and power at the Reaper, which hit and disabled it. The round
continued moving, eventually impacting the planet
Klendagon and creating the Great Rift Valley there.

Klendagon's most striking feature is, of course, the Great Rift valley
that stretches across the southern hemisphere. What is most fascinating
about the Rift is that it does not appear to be natural. The geological
record suggests it is the result of a "glancing blow" by a
mass accelerator round of unimaginable destructive power. This occurred some thirty-seven million years ago.

This ladies and gentlemen is our saviour. I think it will feature heavily in ME3.
