Ok i have seen quite some avatars im sure is costum made, but i can't seem to find any place to upload avatars. so my question to you is, are ther any way of doing so?

If I remember correctly it has to do with changing your game avatar. So for example, the avatar I have is from my Dragon Age Origins character, which comes from a .PNG (Maegorod_portrait.png) file in C:\\Users\\...me...\\Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Characters\\Maegorod. If you would change that portrait it owuld change the avatar that is automatically uploaded to the forums.



Now I don't know if that is fully correct, and I haven't tried it myself yet, so hopefully someone can either confirm this or give proper guidelines

Yep, Maegorod has it correct. Create a new DAO character you aren't actually going to use, then exit the game and replace that portrait file with whatever you want your custom avatar to be.



I think there may be some trick to getting it to update your character, if it uploads it before you get a replacement in, but I can't remember all the details.

ok. Just found out that i haven't reinstalled DA:O since i got Win7. So gotta do that first. Gonna play it again soonish anyway.

How do people get custom ME avatars? DO they make one from a screenshot and upload them via the DAO method above?

It should do it automatically (perhaps depending on how many characters are already uploaded (certain max?)) but I can't really figure it out, I will check some more to see if I can find when it uploads

What are you having a problem with: the character isn't showing up on the site? Or the char is uploaded, but the new portrait you're piggybacking on the character isn't getting uploaded?



If the latter, try deleting the character from your profile here. DAO will generally re-upload any deleted characters that still exist on your comp, in my experience.

Ok now it uploaded a **** load of things from DA:O, even though my PC at home isn't turned on. Anyway i can see it has uploaded the "standard" avatar, so i'll try deleting it and see if tiauto uploads the costum-one instead.

i have my 3 old profiles uploaded, but the new one isn't.

How would I go about uploading a custom avatar if I only have the console version of DAO? These instructions seem to only be for the PC version. Kinda messed up that they make you jump through so many hoops just to have a custom avatar...

1) Use the Character Creator.

2) It can only be done on the PC.

3) That's because it's strictly against the rules.
