Looks like we know who the Signature Edition character is, and he'll be available to everyone else as DLC.

"Adventure alongside Sebastian Vael, an archer of noble birth, as he seeks revenge for the brutal murder of his family. Aid him in his quest, and direct his righteous wrath on your enemies. Sebastian is a full companion character, complete with his own series of side missions. Gain the prince’s allegiance as part of The Exiled Prince downloadable pack included in the BioWare Signature Edition, or available separately for $7 or 560 Microsoft Points." ~ Bioware

"The Exiled Prince introduces the noble archer Sebastian Vael, with players joining him in the middle of his quest to avenge the brutal murder of his family. Sworn to the priesthood as a boy, Sebastian is forced to re-enter the viper's nest of princely politics when his family is brutally murdered, leaving him as the sole surviving heir. Banding together with Sebastian and his unshakable loyalty and excellent aim, players will choose to either avenge Sebastian's murdered family to reclaim his title or direct his holy vengeance on their enemies in Kirkwall. In addition to this action-packed storyline, players will also be able to enlist Sebastian as a follower throughout a majority of Dragon Age II." ~ The Escapist

Here's his original character trailer, and some screenshots from it:

If you don't mind possible SPOILERS, here is a more recent trailer.

What do you think of him? And try to be on-topic/civil.

Where is that accent supposed to be from (Thedas-wise)? Another part of the Free Marches?

I like what I have seen so far. He is an archer. That earns instant points with me. I like his accent well enough. More points. He also seems to be driven by vengeance. More points still. My character will probably get along well with him. ;) Chances are Sebastian will take up the rogue slot in my party. Looks like Isabela is going to be cooling her heels.

Interesting character, don't remember well the whole Kirkwall history, but he could be the former Viscount's child, kille by the templars.....

Edit: read the history of Kirkwall, he isn't the viscount's child....his voice remins me somehow of Nate Howe:?

Well, it seems to be Scottish (or Irish, I've very bad at distinguishing between them sometimes...), so *presumably* that would make him a Free Marchian, assuming they have similar accents to Ferelden, for example.

Nathaniel Howe 2.0...

I got the feeling his sidequest will involved to politics stuff(like conflict between noble house?), though it look quite decent, searching for a murderer, punish them with frontier justice. Cool looking armor anyway.

Yeah, he couldn't be from Ferelden (as that would make no sense) and Rivain, Antiva and Orlais seem out of the picture (due to accent). From what little Casandra I've heard, it don't think it could be Nevarra either.

My name is Sebastian Vael, you killed my family, prepare to die !

Frankly he doesn't sound that interesting, but there's so little info that there is little to discuss at this point...

If he's anything like Leli as an archer, he'll switch to his daggers as soon as I turn my back <_<

It's probably a bit too fast to judge anything, despite of me joking and make fun of his character. He seems like pretty cool guy, his story ought to be fun.

Seven dollars, not the ten dollars many speculated. A bargain! :P

I'm digging the accent, and I'm digging the armor. Looks like a good candidate for my party!

Steal his daggers! That's what I did with Leliana.

Warden: "Okay, so you stand in the back and delibrate our enemies with your arrows!"
Leliana: "Of course, consider it done!"
Warden: "Take this, you foul Ogre! You will not--"
Leliana:  "Hee-yah!"
Warden: "Leliana? But I told you to--"
Leliana: "Yes, but I figured I could stabby the--"
Warden: "NONE OF THAT!" *takes daggers and sells them at the first vendor*
Lelian: *sulks back to ranged*

She can't argue with your decision if she lacks the equipment!

You could prevent that by unequipping her melee weapons. That way she stuck to a bow. Besides, party members in DA2 stick to one weapon all the time. Not like he can use anything *but* a bow. ;)

Probably a good thing, archers sucked in DA:O, Leli was much better with dual weapons.
It'll likely be more like Awakening, where archers were actually you know, useful.

All I have to say is...

First play PC = Rogue, Isabella, Sebastian and a Mage.
