Bethany, sebastian, now if only we had a dog it would be similar to my da:o line up of
morrigan, Alistair and "scraps". only i'll be the warrior this time and Sebastian will be the rouge. the pirate **** and the feminine elf can jump off a bridge. depending on if varic is annoying or not i may pick him. or just make a tank out of aveline or whatever her name is.

I like it. his armor looks cooler that hawkes too.

Gaider, we're getting awfully tired of your always writing characters with two eyes! And they always have voices too! It's like they're all the same character!

I subscribe to this too!

Back on topic though, he looks like an interesting character and he has a great name - I really like the sound of it. Where does he come from?

I'm sure it's already been asked dozens of time by now, but I wonder what he's the exiled prince of?

The general consensus seems to be one of the city states of the Free Marches. This is because:

- He's clearly not Ferelden, given the whole royal bloodline storyline in DA:O.
- He doesn't have the Orlesian accent that the other Orlesian characters have.
- Cassandra's Nevarran royalty, and obviously alive. Plus, what we've seen of her seems to indicate that Nevarrans have German-ish accents.
- He's too pale to be Rivani.
- He doesn't have the Spanish accent that most Antivans have (Oriana being the exception).
- The ruling power of Tevinter being exterminated seems unlikely to be part of his character, and he doesn't have the magic ability that Tevinter rulers tend to have.

That leaves... the Anderfels and the Free Marches. The former seems so unlikely that the latter is the only obvious choice.

unless they present to us another kingdom until now unknown to us, but i'm also betting on it being one of the free marches city states.

Ugh, I really don't like the look of characters. They look so fake.

They are fake,  if they weren't it would be a movie.

Some people prefer the art style to give more of an illusion of realism than to have it look drawn, cel-shaded, etc.

All joking aside, the reveal of yet another Rogue has me a bit irked and even more hopeful.  In Dragon Age Origins, we had two mages, two rogues, three warriors, one dog, and one golem.  If we have three rogues, that could imply that we may have a few more companions in Dragon Age 2.  More party members is certainly plus both gameplay wise and story wise.

The only downside of it is even more lost hours on replays to see how they interact while in the party. So many lost horus just because of that in Origins..

Ha! You've noticed that, too!

Actually, my husband has an even sexier nose, but he is not a Prince. Not even Exiled.

You've made me hopeful too! The only possible down side of having more companions is that they may have less depth than they did in Origins due to time and money constraints.

I'm hearing Scottish too. Thanks for clearing that up for me. I guess I just wouldn't think someone would consider themselves royalty and use a title like 'Prince', when they just rule a city. Considering history, I'm sure that was a silly thing to assume.

The tech is out there to make extremely realistic looking "people".   The characters need to blend in with the world though. Not everyone has kickass computers that can consistently chug out and maintain that level of rendering.  Now, I WISH I had it but I broke 2 ill-equipped computers going through some 3d modeling courses as it is :P  They need to keep it accessible to lots of people, and balance aesthetics with playability.

I think the characters blend in with the new world nicely from what I have seen so far.  Trust me, when they are THAT much better than the world, it looks really, really odd.   And they look good to me, better animation than before also, from what little we can see.

yeah, he's Scottish sounding (think Shrek).

I think the armor looks cool, and like others said, so many hours pf playthrough now to see how all the characters interact.

Looks like I'll be having a 3 rogue and 1 warrior team.

(*bah* to mages....I'll let Bethany get her head squished in)

Maybe he is from Par Vollen -> family killed by qunari perhaps?
Gives a reason why he might be/come to Kirkwall, he might be hunting the qunari that killed his family.
Just speculation of course, but its certainly interesting.

I am now picturing him as a specially-equipped, impossibly badass qunari-buster.

He looks like he is going to be a very interesting character, I'm glad I pre-ordered in October! I knew Bioware wouldn't let us down with the extra content, ummmm.. did that sound like butt kissing? ;)

Anyhoo I agree with alot of others its gonna be a tough call who to have as a rouge, guess I'll just have to play the game and try them all out, so many delicious choices, this game is going to keep me going for a while I think.

He sounds Scottish to me too. Especially with words like "show" and "nowhere," and the intonation in "tae hide"

Though, as mentioned in the Gaider interview thread, they saved time and money by focussing on one main character, so maybe they had more time and money for the companions.

Now this looks like a mighty interesting character.

From that trailer, I also have to say that I really like the new designs for clothing, armor, and apparel in general.

It could happen. :P

Assassins? That's too bad.. there goes my theory, unless.. I believe Zevran once said that every country had assassins, or he was just talking about the Crows in general..
