I like him anyway. And I'd really want him to be romanceable (preferrably both ways), but alas, being DLC he's the least likely romance option. *sniffles*

Oooo come on guys your gonna have to stop with the cute characters, his name is Sebastian and he's a prince for gods sake I expect plenty of this:
Good lord, stop saying that, people.
The squeeing, if it were to happen, probably would have already. The "fangirls are mindless squeeing drones" shtick is really getting on my nerves. I said this elsewhere, but we are not the gender that asked if we could romance are sister, are we?
Well if Carver was as hot as Bethany you'd have, wouldn't you, wouldn't you?

For those who were curious, I wrote the Dwarf Commoner, Orzammar and the Deep Roads, and some early bits of the Landsmeet for Origins. And Bethany. And some guy they haven't announced yet. And a lot of mage plots. Howdy.
Ooo, hi! I like your work, then! Looking forward to this Sebastian guy even more now.

Nope. (I know you're joking, but the fangirl thing is bothering me too much to play along. Sorry!)

Oh jesus Carver, he looks so...weird... like incestous undertones aside how can he be related to my Hawke? He's ugly...

Think it's something to do with how the lighting is set up in that scene and how it's rendered. Not seeing any specular lighting on the armour for example, and there's very high ambient combined with some low placed light which isn't something you see often outside of Boris Karloff movie.Addai67 wrote...
Ugh, I really don't like the look of characters. They look so fake.
I won't make any comment on how The Archer Formerly Known as Prince seems as a character since I can never gauge my like/dislike for a character based on a 20 second trailer. Hell, I thought Morrigan seemed stupid prior to Origins.
But the glaring thing there were the textures on the armor and just the overall graphics. Holy smokes, that looks rough as hell and far far worse than Origins. The colors are just kind of all over the place with some stuff really bright and in your face and other stuff all brown and bland. And the blocky armor textures? My God. And the blank stare, dead zombie eyes? Ugh....The art style I'm not a huge fan of, but if its going to be rendered with the technical fidelity of a Wii game, its not doing itself any favors.
I know they polish and the graphics come last but on a technical level compared to Origins those graphics looked BAD.

I thought graphics were supposed to be improved in DA2, not made worse...
I'm kind of shocked as well... why is this game still so ugly? It launches in two months and looks like a step back from DA:O... what's going on here?

I think:
The character seems interesting
The environments are a big improvement over Origins
The costumes are visually appealing
The voice acting and animations well done
It's neat that I get this for free because I pre-ordered
If you don't want to pre-order then don't. You can pick up the regular edition and buy the DLC or not. You can wait for the price to drop. You can wait for it to be bundled in an Ultimate Edition along with the expansion and DLC and sold for $39.99 on Steam. You can simply not buy.
I thought what they did with DA and ME2 was a great idea and a very generous offer. It was meant to combat used game sales which I can understand; I don't understand why they just didn't stick with that model. This offer is about jumping through hoops, which I'm not inclined to do with a game that looks last gen, at least in the cutscenes. I mean, those graphics are just plain bad when compared to other modern games.
You're right about the voice acting though. Always solid in their games. The costumes, among other things, are too flamboyant; excess seems to be the visual theme. I'll shut up now.

@Saibh: lol Just saying I think he's cute, he's got a lil accent there, he could have a better hairstyle though but that's my only gripe. Everyone else seems to be a bit of a tough crowd unfortunately XD
Now I expect Sebastian to open his mouth and hiss with fangs while tossing a black and purple cape across his shoulders....hairstyle looks kind of count dracula-ish to me...
And I hadn't paid that much attention to his hair before....

I have a confession: I don't like the face morphs. They look cartoonish. They remind of the models from the Sims 3. They don't quite "blend" into the face. You have an obvious nose, an obvious face, and obvious eyes, and they look a bit pasted on. All the lines are quite sharp, almost carved and cut, and that seems to be a style choice, but it makes their faces look a tad cartoony.
Am I the only one who thinks so?
To be really, really far... first time I played DA: O I thought it looked like The Sims 2.
So I consider it a improvement!

I don't know if they look cartoonish, but I do agree all the structural lines of the face are sharp. I don't know if that is intended or not. The eyes, mouth, and nose look obvious because of probably how the facial animation software works. It has to be able to recognize what the eyes are and where they are to do facial animations.

I mean "obvious" as in "they're pasted on". That's not how it looked in DAO or ME1/2.
