I think that most people don't really associate American accents with a high fantasy setting.

Which is sort of silly when you think about it. British accents are just as modern as accents from New York, Georgia, Texas, California, or Des Moines. People during the middle ages sounded nothing like a contemporary Englishmen.

Wow, it's amazing how a game's graphics can not look absolutely perfect and realistic in a video.

Set on high graphics and medium framebuffering....

I wonder what the 30 second ad graphics setting was set on?

Hm. Two "archer" Rogues. Hopefully
Archery talents have been made actually useful so Varric and Sebastian
aren't just standing around looking pretty.

I was wondering about this last night, actually. My F!Aeducan is mostly an archer (I made her that way to get the archery achievements), and eventually l just got sick of her and switched to playing Anders; I can rain down fiery death as a mage, but not so much as an archer.

Oh well. I think I remember someone posting about how the archery tree/talents have been emproved to fix this problem.

You think it's possible to flirt with any companion? It would be hilarious to see how some of them would shoot you down.

Interesting. That accounts for $7 of the $20 of content the signature edition is said to have additionally. I wonder what the other $13 of content will be?

digital armory? Soundtrack?

I would say that likely the soundtrack which is also downloadable accounts for a sizable amount...the armory and the weapons( if they are included) probadly make up the rest which is not a surprise as there are always seems to be a number of weapons in DLCs.

On topic.
NOT Touching the whole validity of dlc thing...except I preordered in october( along with ME2 for PS3) so, I'm now set as I know the extra companion.
NOT touching the graphics thing...as they look great to me and as a console player I am very happy with them. I also ECHO earlier sentiments about the graphics being well not that great but having awesome gameplay and an awesome story...but my thing is I need atleast 2 of the 3 for the game to be great to me. FF13 had the graphics and decent gameplay but a crap story and crap characters( it is now trade bait for DA 2). SO 4 had nice graphics, awesome gameplay, HORRIBLE story and crap characters( I no longer own it but do still enjoy the gameplay). So, by my these games aren't really worth the money that I shelled out for them whereas DAO( which had meh graphics, good gameplay and BADASS storyline[ especially in the treaty questline arc]) and DA2( from what I have seen so far) are worth it.
Sebastion Vael, well... here is the character who could see equal if not more party time for my playthroughs than isabella(if I'm not romancing her) and varric COMBINED outside of their personal quests of course. The whole exiled prince out for revenge thing appeals to me. He's an archer and a rogue....hmmm wonder if he'll have the assassin spec which would push him even CLOSER to becoming like Nathaniel( though the shadow spec wouldn't be so bad either).

Anyways, those are my thoughts on the new character reveal...yeah, we need more mage reveals as it stands if playing as a mage.... Hawke is the only one in the party.

I would never play a high-fantasy video game if it had Texas, deep south, New York, MN-Fargo, Cali-Valley Girl or any other American accents other than the default almost accentless midwest sound. Especially texas and the south....I don't want to be making 'hurry up and spit it out' hand signals to the TV/Monitor.

I know, right? I honestly doubt Morrigan would have ended up pregnant during my Mage Warden's playthrough if Sebastian had been present, 's all I'm saying!

That's exactly what I was wondering. Except replace "companion" with "anyone whatsoever you interact with for more than ten minutes."

Is it just me or does him armor look like a shiny palette swap of Hawke's armor?

Anyways, it seems as if I get my exiled prince/noble character except he is not Orlesian or a chevalier.

The possibilities for awkward situations would be endless! As would the rivalry points gained (meaining negative points) if you kept trying to flirt with them when they tried to give you the subtle 'thanks but no thanks' brush off.

Oh, I agree completely.

Still, I don't think it changes the fact that if "The Lord of the Rings" had been made entirely with American actors using their American accents most of the audience would have been put-off. ^_^

That's why I like the fact that Dragon Age uses many accents.

maybe it's because i really don't care much but i'm not seeing the quality in those videos being superior to sebastian's video, if anything i like sebastian's video better because there's actually quite a bit of color now.

I'm sure many people feel the same way. I'd be interested in seeing it done just to what it's like. Surely someone finds American accents exotic in the way North Americans see European accents.

$7 is better then the $15 it cost for Shale, and they're both free for early adapters anyway.

So this time, even if we buy the full retail, but non-Signature Edition, game brand new from a retailer, we have to pay extra to get Shale.

Fantastic.

Unless you pre-order before the 11th, that is. Which is, in fact, a period of time inclusive of now.

Just sayin'.

And what of the people who aren't in the know? You honestly see no problem with this, just blindsiding people?

I don't get all this DLC whining. I know I'm going to buy DA2 so I preorder and get a bonus. People can buy it at day 1 and not have Sebastian which won't influence their game. I didn't even install Shale the first time I played DAO and didn't feel I missed out on anything. People can wait for the price drop and buy Sebastian and still spend less than what's the game is going to cost on day 1.

And 7 euros isn't going to cost you your whole fortune for god's sake. Where I come from that is about the price of a piece of cake and a cup of coffe and we have low prices for Europe.

And guess what, I didn't buy Darkspawn chronicles, Return to ostagar or Leliana's song, because I didn't find them interesting and no one forced me to buy them.
