I wonder if there will be other dlc companions after launch.

Priesthood - Oh no. Hope he doesn't take the vows seriously.

I was under the impression that only women could be priests as 'becoming a priest' means becoming a bride of the maker. Outside of the Imperial Chantry.

I think he would actually be a brother.

So he's from the Imperial Chantry?

There are Brother in the Chantry (Brother Genitivi for example), but don't know who is their role. I know they couldn't advance in the Chantry's ierarchy.

So, instead of the bonus character being a DLC bonus with the game as a form of unintrusive anti-piracy measure like in DA:O and ME2, instead the DA2 one is only free for the limited edition?

To the people who think things like "companies cut content to sell seperately", this will come off as blatant money grab. I don't get the logic behind this change Bioware...

Also, if this guy is the REALLY SPECIAL party member worthy of being seperated into DLC then I weep for want of halfway decent companions. Ex-Noble Archers do not equal Shale, or Zaeed.

I don't think Shale/Zaeed was put in has an anti-piracy thing. I think it was put in more as anti-used game thing.

I would think they would have more foresight (and be more realistic) than that.  All of DAO's DLC is available by torrent, hell DAO and Stone Prisoner were available a good week before the game actually released.

Leliana says in a banter (with Shale, if I'm not mistaken) that even if she had taked her vows, the Chantry don't forbidden one to have a relationship with someone. In fact, I read this banter just some minutes ago.

That pic is great.

I don't see where people are getting that Sebastian is a member of the chantry, he is only accepting a notice off of the new chantry board or responding to a town announcement?

I'm seeing it that the Grand Cleric knows him because of him being from a noble family and Sebastian being a prince. I see him taking refuge in the Chantry like Leliana did if he was injured in some way when his family was murdered.  I don't see him being a brother and especially a templar.

sebastian's description:

"The Exiled Prince" introduces the noble archer Sebastian Vael, with players joining him in the middle of his quest to avenge the brutal murder of his family. Sworn to the priesthood as a boy, Sebastian is forced to re-enter the viper's nest of princely politics when his family is brutally murdered, leaving him as the sole surviving heir. Banding together with Sebastian and his unshakable loyalty and excellent aim, players will choose to either avenge Sebastian's murdered family to reclaim his title or direct his holy vengeance on their enemies in Kirkwall. In addition to this action-packed storyline, players will also be able to enlist Sebastian as a follower throughout a majority of Dragon Age II.

I didn't even notice until you pointed it out. I absolutely support a recruitable Zuko for Dragon Age 2.

Such a shame he sounds like Shrek. Why give him a scottish accent if you can't get a scottish voice actor?

Yeah, this guy totally isn't from Scotland!

Once again BioWare forum, we fail to identify authentic accents.

I believe they did. Just because he doesn't sound like Groundskeeper Willie from the Simpsons doesn't mean his voice actor isn't Scottish.

That worries me too. What they men for "a majority of DA2"? It sounds like I'll not be a companion for the entire game.

What's with the VO beef?  Having accents complement characters backgrounds shows care on the devs part and makes the game that much more immersive.

if i understood his description correctly, sebastian became a priest/brother at a young age and since this recent event (family murder) he has been searching for the culprits, we can choose to help him track down the murderers or direct his holy vengeace at *our* enemies in kirkwall.

Thanks for the nice words on the picture. It was very quick and I'm sure lots of better stuff will be thronging the thread in no time!

Interesting re. Sebastian's chantry background. Quite a few of the male LI characters guys most often deride as "whiny" in Bioware games have similar backgrounds: Anomen, Alistair, etc. Now I disagree with those criticisms, as I love the characters in question and recognise that a conflicted religious background makes for interesting drama (especially in the pseudo-medieval or -renaissance settings of most fantasy games). I just hope we don't hear lots more of the same criticisms from (in my opinion) superficial players (though, if we do, I'll just tune it out; I've gotten fairly practised at it by now).

Thanks, I missed that bit of info that he was sworn to the priesthood like Alistair. We just don't know if he took his final vows yet. Wow, that will be interesting. Keep flirting with him and get the rival path higher and higher, lol. I can't wait.

My Lady Hawkes gets a crack at making a chantry boy go bad just like my female warden did with Alistiar. I hope Sebastian is harder to crack then Alistair was after a time.

That's probaly a hint on the fact that every follower has his own home instead of the camping in DA1.Which would also means that you do not have them at your side all the time.
