Or maybe it's just because if they said he was available as a party member for the whole game people would take this to mean that he'd be with us even at the very start in Lothering.MoneyDeluxe wrote...
That's probaly a hint on the fact that every follower has his own home instead of the camping in DA1.Which would also means that you do not have them at your side all the time.

Well, ten years is a long time. I don't think every companion will stick with you every single day of that period. They migth get a life of their own sooner or later.

Thanks, I missed that bit of info that he was sworn to the priesthood like Alistair. We just don't know if he took his final vows yet. Wow, that will be interesting. Keep flirting with him and get the rival path higher and higher, lol. I can't wait.
My Lady Hawkes gets a crack at making a chantry boy go bad just like my female warden did with Alistiar. I hope Sebastian is harder to crack then Alistair was after a time.
No, no, no! Your female warden seducing/allowing herself to be seduced by Alistair did not make him go bad... It set him on the right path for everyone concerned, even the Chantry.
He would never have made a decent Templar, anyway, he lacked the conviction and the brainwashing and was too objective...

Why has no one pointed out the official description of him yet?
"The Exiled Prince" introduces the noble archer Sebastian Vael, with players joining him in the middle of his quest to avenge the brutal murder of his family. Sworn to the priesthood as a boy, Sebastian is forced to re-enter the viper's nest of princely politics when his family is brutally murdered, leaving him as the sole surviving heir. Banding together with Sebastian and his unshakable loyalty and excellent aim, players will choose to either avenge Sebastian's murdered family to reclaim his title or direct his holy vengeance on their enemies in Kirkwall. In addition to this action-packed storyline, players will also be able to enlist Sebastian as a follower throughout a majority of Dragon Age II."
It clearly points out his noble origin in kirkwall and that he's essentially part of the priesthood which would explain why he is talking to the Grand Cleric Elthina about the revenge of his family.
Here's the link:http://www.escapistmagazine.com/contests/register/DragonAge2
i thinks it's more that his enemies are now stationed in kirkwall rather than sebastian originating from kirkwall.
That's what I thought from the video....it's not that Seb is FROM Kirkwall, but that's he's there visting/looking for the people in Kirkwall/Free Marches that killed his family.
Maybe his family is from Kirkwall but he was sent somewhere else after he was promised to priesthood as a boy (Because he had sibling/s who could be potential heirs?)

Well, the player doesn't go on a quest for vengeance and was never sworn into priesthood and became a Grey Warden and stopped a Blight.
But as far as being a noble whose family gets killed? Yes.

Hehe, I agree that Alistair saw the chantry for what it was. He really wasn't into the lyrium addiction and I think he would have escaped eventually. I can hear him say in my mind, screw you I'm not doing that. JMHO.
Uh my female wardens set out to seduce him, not the other way around! LOL! I'll take it that he swept your warden's off of their feet! That's nice too.
My Lady Hawke is going to try her hardest to seduce this new prince if she can, the challenge has been accepted! LOL!

if i understood his description correctly, sebastian became a priest/brother at a young age and since this recent event (family murder) he has been searching for the culprits in order to avenge and regain his title, we can choose to help him track down the murderers or direct his holy vengeace at *our* enemies in kirkwall.
it seems that what we can do is direct his anger at the target we find most suitable:devil:

He wasn't exiled, Isolde (Eamon's wife) thought he was his husband's son, and convinced Eamon to send Alistair to a monastery. Isolde didn't know he was the son of Maric, therefore she suspected about Eamon's decision to take care of Alistair. Loghain convinced Maric to mantain secret the existance of an another heir to the throne of Ferelden.
So, isn't this considered exiling his own flesh and blood in some ways?
I see your point. I howewer consider the "exiled" position in a different way, as losing a status or a title. Plus, Alistair never actually wanted to be king, or to be included in the court's life, so I don't consider him exiled.
I guess so. Though later in the game you can somehow change his mind about the throne, because of Anora.

I also think we're done with warriors. Fenris, Aveline and possibly carver seem like enough.
It would seem all that's left is mages. So far we have Bethany and Merril may be another.

Whoa.
I guess this qualifies C-Bass as a Badass Preacher on a Roaring Rampage Of Revenge.
I hope he'll be more murderous than, say, Nate.
