Sebastian is really the first character to make me think 'meh'. I do, however, like his voice, accent and the color of his eyes. Who knows, I could get the game and like him alot. I shall wait and see how he turns out.

Uh, any specific reason there should be any? I mean, there exist hundreds of accents in the world, if not more.

Not that this means I'm against Slavic accents or anything. I'd personally have no trouble at all with whatever accent BioWare decides to use in DA2.

It wasn't my intention to imply there should be some Slavic accents in DA.
I just wanted to know if you and other people think there is any specific reason why there are none. They are quite distinctive I guess and I thought maybe people generally don't like the sound of them.

I'd like Slavic accent in the game (should bioware decide they wish to include another accent for a particular country). I think Slavic would be perfect as there would also be a lot of voiceactors that could do it. Someone has to voice all those russian mobster/soldier characters in games and such.

By slavic I hope you don't mean something like Niko Bellic(should be Nikola Belič) with his fake eastern european accent.

EDIT: Yeah, he was voiced by Mike Hollick after all.

Don't look at me - I'm a total fangirl for Fenris but I'm not exactly gaga for Prince Sebastian here. I like what I see so far, but not enough to squee. At the moment the thing I like best about him is the chance to do some compelling, vengeance-seeking personal quests with him.

He's probably just like Samara, though. I bet Hawke will be able to flirt and suggest things but will get brushed off because of something like a Chantry related vow of celibacy or a general disinterest in love/sex because he's focused on his mission, etc.

On the Chantry note, I'm wondering if he's going to bring that up a lot, since that's where he was raised/educated. Will he be like Leliana with all the: "Chantry this" and "Maker that"?

Was personally secretly hoping for the return of Dog or at least something more unique(?) like Shale but this looks OK. Although he does sort of remind you in a certain way of Nathaniel, the PC Cousland and maybe even the Dwarf Noble. But eh, I trust Bioware's narrative prowess I'm sure this guy and his story will be compelling and unique in his own way.

I would just like to thank the developers very much so that I don't have to include varric in my party now. My male evil mage will be eternally grateful knowing that 1/3 of my main party is now made up.

Only need to see who the two coolest mages are hopes very much for velanna .

So is Alec Newman the other VA that you specifically requested? You had mentioned that you requested three specific voice actors in the Fenris thread... Although maybe I'm getting it mixed up and it was three seperate times where you got your specific voice actor that you had requested.

I can say that for all the characters so far, but I think it's mainly the graphics I don't like.  I watched his trailer and then went to watch Alistair's character trailer.  While small details are definitely better, such as the paper and the movement, overall it looks to me like a regression.  More cartoony, less gritty.

I suppose I'll get used to it.

was it purposeful that the character sort of uses the same expressions as I imagine the actor does? Or do you use the actor to direct the character expression?

And thank you all for giving your opinions, maybe we will see a companion with slavic accent in DA universe someday;) but I'm glad it's not Sebastian, he sounds perfect the way it is! And I feel he might have interesting personality behind those hypnotic eyes.

I just finished watching the trailer a few times in HD. I do agree that the graphics seem less precise than DA:O. However, I really love what I've seen of Sebastian's personality. He will be an interesting addition to our group. Although I can and do "squee" with the best of them, I'd rather have a well rounded and interesting party member than a less well rounded love interesting.



I do have a question that may have been answered in another thread, can warriors also be archers? If not, then so far our companion choices seem a little rogue heavy. I hope the other unannounced companions will balance things out a bit.

Standard warriors cannot be archers.  It may be that companions are different in this respect (having specialised skill trees and all), but we don't know.

you know i dont see why some people are saying he might not be an LI because of his religion. i mean, generally speaking, "religious" people (more specifically, people who have made vows) aren't supposed to kill or seek vengeance either, depending on their faith, but that didn't seem to stop Sebastian from seeking those out. if anything, i think he wouldn't be an LI just because he is dlc.


but really, you know what i think about everytime i read "sebastian"?

I think people are assuming he's religious because he seemed close to the Gland Cleric in the trailer.
