True, I would not be happy.  I'm sorry, but the male companions so far do not peak my interest at all.  Prince Sebastion is the only one who has.  I may regret buying the game if Bioware doesn't give any decent romanceable male companions.  And it is an RPG, you play a role.  You date IRL, why would you not do it in game.

I very much doubt he'll be a love interest because he's a downloadable character. You'd have romance interests in DA2 + one DLC romance, leaving the male Hawkes with one less romance than the female ones.

Well historically, guys have gottens more LIs than women that was in the main game and not even DLC.

Wouldn't it be something if the tables were flipped?

I doubt it would be the case since that might alienate future male customers from buying the DLC - they might think its a "love" download or something ridiculous like that, but I'm just saying, it's never really been "equal for the sake of being equal", but the thought of girls getting "one up" on the guys as far as the romances goes does make me grin a little on the inside.

Well if they're talking Varric and Fenris, I will cancel my preorder right now and continue playing DAO because I like attractive men and I know there are girls out there who like Varric and Fenris, but I am not one.  I don't think either of those characters are in the slighest attractive.  And YES, I do like eye candy.

Not extreme.  We have two of these SE on pre-order, one for my son and one for me.  I play for the enjoyment more than the fighting.  If Bioware can't do better than Varric and Fenris, then I don't want the game.
