I dunno too many similarities to your Human/Dwarf Noble already with the Avenge My Family/Exiled stuff...do like the character design, and I do still look forward to playing his missions, but when I saw Exiled Prince seeking Revenge for brutally murdered family I was like "They merged the Dwarf/Human Noble stories to make a dlc companion?" Personally I think Shale is way better CONCEPT dlc companion then this one. I also see many people are noting differences to Nate Howe, but still will play his side missions anyways.

Personally I just saw him and thought... Ugh. Instant dislike. I can't even exactly explain why. It's just to me he comes off as an arrogant and snotty noble brat. Okay brat is not the fitting word maybe,...but yeah so not squeeing over this additional character. Quite the opposite

This is a guess:

He's the only companion that we know the personal story of. If you're not interested in that plot, it's probably off-putting.

Then in dragon age 10, the protagonist will have to over throw the power-behind-the-throne-femme-protagonists in order to restore order to thades lol

The negative commentary I've seen has been about the practice of chopping games up into bits and about announcing DLC before the game is out, not about the character.

wouldn't that actually detract from a lot of hetero guys from buying the dlc? at least the ones that don't visit the forums/ casual gamers? they would just think the only point to him was the romance and seeing as he is male, probably not download it?

well that's just the logic i would think because of my friends' and brother's attitude. they don't play femWarden because it doesn't interest them to play the game as a female, so why would they play a femHawke or buy DLC "geared" towards females?

According to Mary (if my memory is right) he's in his late 20s to early 30s when you first meet him.

I like this concept. I think it would be really cute to pair him with Bethany, since my femHawke will go rogue.

I have been wondering if Sebastian will have some dead sister he couldn't protect and if he'll become overly protective towards certain female party members in her absence. Bioware do have a habit of focusing on the brother-sister relationship of quite a few of their duty-bound male characters: Anomen, Alistair, Nathaniel... (Am I forgetting anyone?)

One can make comparisons between almost anything, sure, so long as the comparisons are superficial and any differences are ignored. I'm not sure we could create something that wouldn't, at least on the surface, be comparable to something else in the genre (no matter how much of a stretch that might be).

Thankfully, Sebastian's about as alike to Alistair as Aveline is to Leliana.

Of course you could have, Hello Dwarf female companion? nothing like that in either game, i am going to LOVE Dragon age 2 but by the looks of things the romancable options will be the same as Dragon Age O, Bisexual elf and Human female or str8 Human female, or Human Male, come on mix it up a little.

Because he's a DLC character, I also don't expect him to be a full-fledged romance. However, I would definitely be open to something like Samara--the attraction could be there, but the situation and/or timing isn't right. I could live with that (a little less happily, but it would be better than nothing!). If he is a romance option, well, I want to play whatever Hawke gender he's attracted to for my first playthrough!

I'm really interested in having him as a companion though, romance or not. I really think a rivalry could be interesting with him, especially if Hawke obtains any sort of noble status before champion (however that plays out). Two nobles competing with each other could be fun.
