For me, it and the fixed companion outfits thing make it so that i have to be more careful on who should i bring to the party in case she has no panties... I mean pants!nightcobra8928 wrote...

right... characters are magically unable to wield anything but a single type of weaponry... awesome new feature.
I agree, but they do have their reasons.
Laziness?
<_<
well...to me, it makes it so that i have to be more careful on who should i bring to the party in a determined situation than in origins.

I would like to give companions a new armour as well, but I like this idea too.s0meguy6665 wrote...
Being unable to give companions new outfits other than just a tiny amount of ones designed only for that character is also stupid... what if you don't like their outfits? I disliked all but a few outfits (especially most of the standard companion outfits) in DAO, nevermind the robes.
But at least your companions change outfits during timeskips.
As for Sebastian, when do you think we meet him?
Early on in the game? Or a bit later? In Origins getting your companions was based in the location (Circle of Magi, Orzammar), but I get the feeling that you get most of your companions after time skips.

oh that's even better, companions that change outfits in time themselves with no input from the player.Risax wrote...

I actually saw Sebastian Vael today. I was at the dealership getting some minor work done on my car and in he walks. Dark blonde hair, bright blue eyes, fine featured face, dressed in faded blue jeans, a leather jacket, and carrying a backpack. It was all I could do NOT to stare. Once the game comes out, this young man is going get some play.

well if you think about real life, many people are like that too. Like muscians, there are plenty that specialize in one instrument. Of course there are others who can play several more, but I don't think the people who choose to specilize in one instrument are lazy.Skellimancer wrote...

anyway the change isn't necessarily bad. different company, but in ff6 the majority of characters could wield all sorts of different weapons, and could also choose to forgo a shield and dual weild as well. in ff7 each character only has one type of weapon they can use and can't use shields at all. different interfaces or options doesn't always mean something is worse.
if everything stayed the same all the time, except wiht improved graphics, dragon age would essentially be the same as pokemon.
of course both series are insanely popular and do well, but i think the bioware team is just trying to figure out what works for them and they are willing to take the risk to do something different.

How is giving us unique armour or clothing for every single follower lazier than just making them use the same armour and clothing as the PC (what DA:O did with everyone apart from Morrigan)? This just doesn't compute for me.Skellimancer wrote...

On the other hand, I couldn't change Morrigans outfit in first playthrough because I felt it was part of her character <_<

This...this reminds me a LOT of what I did to Alistair as a joke on my Douchebag playthrough. I stuck him in the lowest quality variant of massive armor I could find, dumped all of his points into magic, his talents into two-handed swords...and gave him a bow. Bioware took my joke Alistair and made him an armor-wearing archer badarse with a better personality!
Maybe he cooks better too.

Well, atleast he hit that paper the old hag was holding, so Sebastian probably intimidated her a little. I think he was just glad he hit anything at all.Skellimancer wrote...
I think he is terrible.
He must have a dexterity of 3 to miss at such a close range.
Actually, I believe he was aiming for the paper the she was holding. Context of the video, she took down the notice he put up & he put it back on & sent her a message by shooting it with an arrow. Pretty good archery skills if you ask me.

My apologies then, sometimes intent is lost in boards or chats, since tone really doesn't translate well in writing. If they were joking then it flew over my head

Well, I like him also. He reminds me more of Nathaniel Howe of Awakening fame then Allistaire. (some of Nathaniel's family also had also been murdered by basta... uh that was me ?)
You only murdered his father, who first murdered your entire family except for your brother who was away at the time. But had he been there, he would've gotten axed, too. So it's okay, you're justified. Seb is basically your Cousland, going for revenge on the people that murdered your family.

You probably meet him by taking his revenge quest from that quest board he arrowed his paper to. Also, his accent sounds egyptian. I wouldn't mind an Aladin on my team.Risax wrote...

Egyptian?
I'm pretty sure, no I'm 100% sure that the accent is scottish (the VA is scottish and it sounds scottish). Unless Aladin suddenly became a highlander I don't think he would talk that way.
