I get the impression Sebastian was developed along with the game's production, ala Shale instead of a last minute toss in. At least, I hope so. Shale is the very model of DLC done very, very, wonderfully right.

Will he be like Mass Effect 2's DLC characters, where you can do their loyalty mission instantly and they have little story impact or will he be more fully integrated and paced like Shale?

I really hope it is the latter.

Sebastian's story seems like it has so much more than Kasumi and Zaeed's (Steal personal item/revenge on crime boss.)
I was quite satisfied with Shale and her/it's status as a companion. She/it was just as much of a companion as Sten or Alistair (except the romancable part.) I can honestly say that we won't be disappointed:)

He seems like a pretty cool character.

dont know if this was said already, on the german magazine homepage gamestar.de u can find the information, that there will be three quests regarding the sebastian dlc.

okay, i dont know how long these missions will take, just knowing the number three i must admit i feel a little disappointed or at least i had expected more when it was announced.
:(

well i hope either the missions are no short ones or the magazine was misinformed. we will see...

Cheer up! :) we had only one quest for each companion in Origins as far as my memory is concerned, so it's great, I'm sure it'll be ok, don't worry ;)

As long as the Dragon Age 2 DLC is at the caliber of Lair of the Shadow Broker I don't really care how long it is! lol

Well, aren't they different groups?

Hopefully the DLC tests of DA: O/A paid off and the group has a better feel on what Fans want. Which is apparantly more stories with their character and their allies.

Indeed different groups...however they are still Bioware Corporation. It is not immpossible for the Dragon Age team to make DLC at the quality of LotSB.

The question is... Do they want too? I mean, they very well may use DA2 to test more unusual DLC ideas/themes and than incorporate what works in future works. I mean, look at Shale. Huge success and now we have the Prince to fill that role.

Label me a fangirl if you must, but I am indeed a teensy bit sad he's a DLC character and thus almost certainly not romanceable. *sniff*

Loving Sebastian right now! Very good looking prince and I love the accent! I hope that this dlc and Sebastian as a companion is just as long and just as nice as was the one for Shale. :)

I would think that rogue skills & Chantry don't mix well. He would be more believable as fighter/archer IMHO.
But then, bows were taken from Warrior class, so it's probably out of question.
So, what do you think his specialization tree could look like? =]

More than bagpipes, I want to know if there's a haggis reference in there somewhere.

Lolz, don't feel too bad.  In Mass Effect II, I really dug Zaeed Massani.  Maybe its just an all-encompassing repressed emotional response to my attraction to hardened characters like Canderous Ordo and Sagacious Zu, but a part of me really wished that he was an LI for my hardcore renegade femshep, although I knew that was impossible (the poor guy didn't even have a dialogue wheel)

But hey, I for one, know that after Kasumi's reveal there is a great following that calls for her as an LI in ME III.  May or may not actually happen in ME III, but the fact that the devs do listen is perhaps enough fuel some hope, so chin up! I think the prospect of a DCL LI character isn't so foreign as it may seem at first. B)  Cheers!
