Though I don't understand, if it's the Chantry, aren't only women allowed to be priests? Unless he has a position more like a nun or something.
Or a missionary.

Heh, I was analyzing the vid "Making of Dragon Age 2: Part 2" and I noticed at 1:53;~20 you can see Seb walking behind Hawke with his bow in hand. You can clearly see his unique armor.

This looks like the area where the scene in the DLC trailer took place.

It might just be. In the teaser he walks away with his bow in hand after shoosting zee arrow. In the background you can see very similar architecture (as in part of the same building, similar) and limey corrosion or plant growth (must be the latter, unless it's near the port or aquaduct or reservoir, or some icky-dicky sewer). And that must be the moment Hawke comes to the Chanter's Board seeking quests. You can connect the dots, I think. It makes sense.
Course it may very well be coincidence, but given the circumstance...
I highly doubt it.

The Release of this game can not come soon enough!
(The Point) After researching all that I can about DAII thus far (and DA in general). Sebastian Vael is the first companion character who has an uncanny resemblance to someone. I can picture it in my head but, I can't remember the name. (And no it is a person, not someone from another video game.)
So I heard something about a principality. Is that where he is exiled from? Or is that too much info?
Edit: I was reading the posts on the first page of this thread...didn't realize this thread had +69 pgs already.

Wouldn't he be a Chantry brother then? Like Brother Genitivi or Brother Burkel.
I sure hope he wasn't going to be a Chanter

Apart Chantry of Andraste there is also Imperial chantry
That doesn't recognize Andraste as Makers bride and so they allow priests of both sexes....

It could be that Sebastian really had no choice in the matter... so we shall see how strong faith he really has

That's true, but in the video it looks like the woman priest knows him. I got the impression he was studying in her Chantry before his quest for vengeance and she was trying to talk him out of it.
Doesn't Imperial Chantry exist only in Tevinter?

Well, coloring and symbolism in woman priests clothing seems to point to Imperial in my mind....
and Free Marches is closer to Tevinter than Orlais and...
Or maybe I'm just over thinking it

For those who were curious, I wrote the Dwarf Commoner, Orzammar and the Deep Roads, and some early bits of the Landsmeet for Origins. And Bethany. And some guy they haven't announced yet. And a lot of mage plots. Howdy.
I also really liked the Crosscut Drifters and other codex from the Deep Roads.

Actually I don't see a problem with my statement. It's like saying if you're into aliens.
I agree with you. Personally, I could never imagine myself being in a romantic, let alone sexual relationship with a black or hispanic person, simply because I find them physically utterly unappealing and not in any way sexy. That doesn't mean that I have a problem working with them or chatting with one of them every once in a while, I just can't imagine them as partners.

Define 'black' or 'Hispanic'.... It's great you actually chat with them, wow!!!

It would seem that racism is alive and well in the 21st century.

sevalaricgirl Its the fact that you liken an attraction to aliens to an ethnicity as something...odd or abnormal. An atrraction to a fictional alien species is viewed as strange (its not unheard of in the Mass Effect universe but strange there as well) when fangirls/boys talk about how attractive Tali/Thane/Garrus are. The fact that you worded it, whether intentional or not, as though an attraction to someone of a different ethnicity or skin tone than [insert race here] is strange/abnormal is what is wrong with your statement. You're very much entitled to your opinion, just understand it may seem offensive to others.
And with that said, BACK ON TOPIC.
I wonder with Jennifer's words about picking the flirt options, what that may entail? I figure it will essentially lead us down a general sort of, "Why are you flirting with me? We have a mission to do!" But what will happen after the mission is over? Or maybe he'll say that he's taken, or was betrothed before his exile? Either way I hope the flirt options aren't just there to be there!

I assumed they used 'priesthood' because it's something people can easily digest.
