Hi All,

I am a newbie to DragonAge.  Have just played through to the end and about 1/2 way through the Archdemon dragon fight, the game freezes...my controller keeps shaking and the characters are frozen on the screen. 

I have played  this fight about 6 times and it freezes at diffferent spots, all after the Archdemon is at about 40% help.

I have done my best to read through these forums and have seen some similar problems...Are the any workarounds or do i just have to stop playing the game?  I have loved and and would love to level a charcter into Awakenings...

I have and XBox 360 s.  I have both the Ultimate and original version of the game, and switching the disc does not seem to help.

Hmm. All I can say to help you is to try installing the game to your HD, if you haven't already.  I have the PC version now myself (used to have Xbox version, no issues when I did though), but I had freezing problems with other games like Oblivion for example.  It was caused by too much DLC plus the game itself having to be loaded into the memory, it overloaded and froze. Installing the game to the Hard Drive allows it to not have to "cache" as much data, so it should run smoothly.  Another game I can use as an example (with SEVERE freezing issues, and a big reason Microsoft started the "Install Game to Hard Drive" option) is Grand Theft Auto IV.  Due to the size of the game and the compression to fit it all on one disc, it would quickly overload the disc cache and freeze the game (when I reported the problem to EA, they explained it to me).  Installing it to the HD installed it uncompressed, allowing it to not need the disc cache.

 My Ultimate Edition freezes every time I get to the point in the Archedemon fight where the other enemies come out.  (Archedemon at about half energy)....I have a new slim that is only about 3 months old, and no other game freezes on it.  The game is installed to the HD and I've cleared the cache several times, but it freezes up every time.  This pisses me off so bad I'm thinking of canceling  Dragon Age 2 today. WTF? Can't I finish a damn game from Bioware without it freezing? Seriously.<_<

This happen to me last night about 3 times. I looked on the forums and it appears to be a autosave bug that gets corrupt. Make sure that you dont resume the game with the autosave file. Instead load the game manually from a save you made before the Archdemon fight. Then once you start, pause the game and go into options and turn auto save off.

I did this and it worked for me with out any freezing. Hope it works for you.
