Even though I've given 500 to Bella and 500 to Kaitlyn when my Warden was in Redcliffe, their epilogue slides don't show at the end. I was wondering if there was any problem, bug, or patch that might be responsible for their epilogue slides not appearing at the end of DA:O.

I have the same problem, I thought that was a right waste of money (sovereigns i mean) after the deception of not seeing them in the epilogue slides ^^



I have no idea whats causing it though, are you playing on ps3 as well? I wondered if that was the problem

Yeah, I'm on the PS3, too. I was hoping to resolve the issue before DA2 came out, just in case (since Teegan does become the new Arl and get married, I figured it might play a role down the line). But since this also seems to be an issue for the PC, I'm not certain what could be causing it, if it's a conflict between quests, characters or something of that nature.

I've even done where I gave the sword back with no money to Kaitlyn and money to Bella and nothing.

Yeah even with the various patches that have been realesed, the epilogue slider still appears to be quite bugged. It is possible to find out if the game registed that you gave them money on the pc version, But not sure about the xbox and ps3 versions.

I've only seen the epilogue slide for Bella if she stays in Redcliffe and takes over the tavern, and for Kaitlyn's brother. But the others have never shown for me (PC).

Hmm, I always get Kaitlyn's slide where she marries Teagan.

Bella gets an epilogue if you give her enough money, or hand over ownership of the tavern, and either Kaitlyn or her brother get an epilogue (depending on whether you gave the sword back or gave her enough money to start a new life).

Wow. I always gave them about 5 golden coins each (if I remember right), but I never saw any mentions of these two in my epilogues. I always thought they were too inconsequential characters to even merit a mention.

if i'm not mistaken, the teagan marriage slide only pops up if you give hand outs to one girl and not both. i can't really confirm this though, it was just something i read a while back that some of the teagan cult girls talked over.

Given that other people were having problems with the Bella and Kaitlyn epilogues, I searched through the threads and found what seems to be the problem for the Bella and Kaitlyn epilogues:

If I remember right from digging around in the toolset Bella's epilogue if you gave her money is glitched, or at the least has some rather odd requirements to get it to trigger. There's a similar problem with Kaitlyn's epilogue, it only triggers if you give Kaitlyn 5 gold before the battle and not after (the plot flag doesn't set properly if you give her money after the battle).

From all information gathered. For it to trigger Loyd must remain at the tavern & not enter the battle. If you give her the money & force Loyd to fight. Bella becomes in charge of the Tavern. Game will think she is still in charge of the tavern. Which makes the game skip her epilogue. Also might be a glitch that conflicts with the Sword Sub-Plot. Even if you return it & not give her the money.

I just hope doesn't have some kind effect in Dragon Age 2. From Interviews only the more important decisions carry over into Dragon Age 2. Leaving the tavern seems minor. We will not even be in Red Cliff or Denerim in DA 2. Atlease I don't think we will be in Denerim.

Was thinking of Re-Playing Origins again trying to get Bella to leave. Just don't want to Re-Play the game again just for one minor Decisions. If I have time I'll re-play Origins right before DA2.

• This means that to see the slide about Bella going to Denerim, you have to see the slide about Kaitlyn opening a foundry and marrying Teagan. This reinforces my doubts about the existence of a Bella / Teagan marriage ending.
  
  
• You have to give Kaitlyn the money before the battle, or else the plot flag about her being rich doesn't set.

I've been trying hard to get the Kaitlyn epilogue, but to no avail. I bring her brother to her, talk to her, do the battle of Redcliffe, talk to her again and give her the 5 gold, and I never see her epilogue. So now you're telling me I have to talk about the sword to trigger it? "Troublesome" doesn't begin to cover it. I can only pray that I have an autosave that's close to it. Just for the record, I am on PC.

Going by the post above yours, you need to give her the money before the battle.

I get both Bella's and Kaitlyn's epilogues together. I give Kaitlyn the money before the battle and tell Bella that I'll be back after the battle which is when I give her the money. Kaitlyn and Bella both end up in Denerim.

My guess is that the epilogues have been screwed with in one or more of the recent updates. I no longer get any info on my companions, either (along with the problem mentioned in the OP). I know that Oghren's used to conflict with him showing up in 'Awakening', but I miss them. They were pretty cool.

See, the thing is, I never even knew about the sword before, so the game wouldn't let me pay her until after the battle. It just doesn't seem right to me, to take her family's sword, even if you do pay for it... but if it's the only way to get her to marry Teagan, I guess I'll do it.

With ZDF, I have a fix up as an update to kaitlyn, and also a fix to the whole Bella/Kaitlyn cards being dependent.  They're not a part of ZDF proper yet, but are up as an update.
