I am playing TOB on a regular install.  I just beat the Ravager in the final challenge room, but I cannot leave the pocket plane yet because I haven't completed challenge room 3.   When I enter the southern most chamber, the screen goes black and the ghostly version of me appears and talks to me about innocence.  With any combination of responses, the result is always the same at the end: the apparition (with the main player's name) doesn't turn into the Slayer, like everyone suggests, but rather stays a blue circle character and starts attacking me.  It doesn't take any damage, nothing affects it, and I can't talk to it.  It just runs around the room yelling "We must speak" and "Don't make me do this" and attacking me.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Ok, so I ended up solving this one myself moments after I posted it. For reference, I found the answer here (http://forums.biowar...719505&forum=10)



Diagnosis: bad install



Symptoms: debug message: Action Errors:- Action ApplySpellRES Not found. Check for proper brackets. Line Number:1' and the above manifestation



Solution:

1. search for a file named action.ids in your TOB folder; should be under subfolder 'script compiler'

2. open the file with notepad, change line 160 so it reads



160 ApplySpellRES(S:RES*,O:Target)



3. save the file

4. copy the file to subfolder 'override'

5. restart from the last save
