I'm on my second playthrough and I started a mage, I built the first one poorly and deleted it then played through the game as a rogue. Now that I'm back to the mage I decided it'd be helpful to invest into some anti-mage skills just to see if they were any good.
That spell line is far and away a better mage/caster killer than a templar could ever be. Time and again mana clash has routinely one shotted any casters I've encountered. Abominations, demons, shades. Everything either dies outright or is dropped so far down in HP that they are trivial to defeat. Mana clash is instant cast and has a very large aoe radius.
It rarely ever gets resisted and even if it does, you can follow up with mana cleanse removing enemy caster mana, again in a very large radius.
The chantry should be using mages to hunt down mages, templar abilities are pathetic by comparison.
Does anyone else find this amusing?
