So, I just realized that the NWN2 Server Creator tool won't work with the Steam version of the game due to the following error:
"Could not find a valid path in the Windows Registry. Please re-install Neverwinter Nights 2 before running this application again."
Is there any work around for this?

It might work to create the NWN2 registry entries so that the application detects NWN2 as being installed. Could anyone PM me those values? Thanks a million.

The Dedicated Server Creator was never updated for SoZ, as I recall.
For a server only install:
Throw away (dirs): Ambient*, Campaigns* (if you don't play the campaign), Music*, NWN2Toolset*,
In 'Data', you can throw away: Actors*.zip, Music*.zip, NWN2_Materials*.zip, Sounds*.zip, VO*.zip, Walkmesh*.zip (as I recall).

Really? That is tragic. So essentially I'll have to install NWN2 on the server machine and strip it down to work? Will I require two copies of the game in the case?
Thanks.
Thanks.

No, you can just manually copy only the parts of the install necessary over to the server machine. This is exactly what the old Dedicated Server Creator app did really, just with a pretty GUI wrappered around a bunch of file copies.

me and a friend are sort of having the same problem we bought the game from steam and while trying to connecting to each others game.
the server keeps saying "the server has timed out" but when one of us tries to connect to someone elses game it works
how can this be fixed?
been trying everything for example changing ports, turning firewall off etc this doesnt make any difference

Hey can you PM me those registry entries and values as well? Or better yet just post them here.
Thanks,
