I've now made several passable "Exterior" spaces using interior maps. They're good enough proof of concept for me to move onto the next stage. However, one limitation I'm finding is the sky/sightlines. (99% of the players use exploration mode, so ceilings are mostly a non-issue) Deep forests, dense townscapes, villages you only see at night, any location that's by nature incredibly foggy... they're all fine... but what can be done on an interior to create some sort of daytime horizon?
Interior Exteriors -- daytime skylines?

For sky domes to work on interiors, they have to be placeables. if you want the sky to change, you would need 4-6 sky domes for the times of day and swap the placeable by script

You'll also want to ensure that the placeables are not flagged as static if they are to be edited by script in this fashion.

Just curious as to why we are doing this to begin with? Tiled terrain is kinda the running joke about nwn1 is it not?
Why avoid using the faaabulous terraining abilites?

Because if you can do them in a way that doesn't suck, your PW can put in more stuff than it could otherwise.

My reason for working on interior sky domes was that baron and I were going to make ruined interior tile tiles. you would be able to look outside through windows and collapsed walls and ceilings
