Well, he'd look awkward in battlegear because he doesn't have the body of Shep...and Meer's voice. No thx, I don't want a film about Shep.
the film IS about shep (http://movies.ign.co.../1092495p1.html in the last part) ...sorry man.

Erm, I dont think it matters who plays whoever in this film. Video games have never converted well into award winning films.
Can anyone tell me a game/film that has actully been sucessfull? winning awards etc?
Tomb Raider?
Really? the best example you have is Tomb Raider? Look like default Sheppard means absolutely squat if
A. you cant act worth a damn
B. Nobody but 2 people on the planet know who you are
C. You sound like a tool.
Im sorry to OP but no Hollywood studio is going to sign of on this guy, Think about is anyone going to make a $100 Million dollar with a guy they whose never played in anything of any (American) merit.

PLUS 80% of the film will have to be computer generated anyways, given all the alien species & locations. So why not just do the entire film that way. Then IF Shep is in it, he can look canon & even have the same voice over.. & it won't look out of place because its derived from a computer/console game already.

I vote CGI. Watched that Final Fantasy flick last night in passing as it was on tele, & I gotta say the atmosphere kinda reminded me of ME (you know, futuristic hardware etc). That film was made in 2001, so imagine how well it could be done 10 years later.

This guy is right. I hope the CGI has good graphics tho, not like resident evil degeneration .

That Article you post says nothing about it being about shep infact the people who are doing the movie only mention the IP not shep sorry. Its only ign who mention it and there not doing the movie.
Personaly I'm hoping for developer hell.
I'd also like to point out all the final fantasy movies sucked.

ME movie is a terrible idea.
Period.
A movie set in the ME universe could work though. With really precise, careful planning and execution. Maybe.

Movies that started off as a video game and done well.....none come to mind. But then there have not been many games as well written in story and character as Mass Effect either. So I'm sort of on the fence about this one. I know I'll watch the movie regardless but I just hope they make good choices in casting and production.
But you can't go by awards when it relates to film. A movie can get many awards and still be terrible or it might not get any and still be good. That depends on people's taste and not critics.....I hate critics.
