Mark Meer is really what makes male Shepard, Shepard.

Corrected :P

Fixed it for you. :wizard:

Seriously, can't we all just get along? :kissing:

FINALLY fixed :P.  Jennifer Hale is -- in my opinion, of course -- more awesome as femShep than Mark Meer is as maleShep... which, some have said in some corners of this site, probably all on whoever's directing him to be so relatively emotionally flat most of both games.  But I really can't say anything, y'know, damning about his performance or anything.  Whereas the Vanderloo Shepard, somehow, manages to be damning in one horrific screenshot:

Ugh.  Plus the whole, y'know, sticking his ugly mug on the link to Jennifer Hale's voting link for female Shepard at the VGA awards... Still, with the singular exception of defaultShep, I really, really don't have any issues with maleShep at all.  I just couldn't get into playing as him, and that's entirely me.  Truth be told, though, to stay on topic, a little ... Shepard shouldn't be in a Mass Effect movie.  At all.  Liara, probably.  (Definitely voiced by Ali Hillis, maybe played by her with some CG.)

On the topic of the ME movie.. people say that Mark Vanderloo can't play Shepard since he's not an actor.. but.. I saw this clip posted by a member of the forum.. and I could see some real potential.. you guys agree on Mark Vanderloo, Yvonne Strahovski and Marty Sheen, playing their own characters..?

Vanderloo could play Shepard he just needs American accent lessons.

The Street Fighter movie was hilarious camp.

The one with Raul Julia and JCVD was awesome.

The Legend of Chun Li was utter garbage, whoever made that should suffer some sort of medieval-era punishment; iron maiden, the rack, that "pear" thingy, or maybe a combination of those.

But if they did a Mass Effect movie, they should go with CG and use the game voice actors.

Ergh, don't even mention the horrific trainwreck that was the 2010 VGAs. The only saving grace I could find about the award for Best Female Actor as a Human Award* being completely left out of the show after they made such a big deal out of the Male Award was that none of the fantastic actresses had to have anything to do with that piece of crap excuse for an "awards show".

* I mean, seriously. They couldn't even be bothered to put up a screenshot with the name of the winner like they did with other awards?  What the hell, man?

Didn't Vader in the original trilogy composed by two guys? An actor on-screen with a voice over?

Why can't Vanderloo be there to look good and establish at least some consistency/brand recognition for BioWare's Shepard and dub in Meer with the dialogue?

Assuming the movie'll feature Shepard, that is. Which I'm not particularly fond of.

I'd rather have Ms. Hale play the leading role of shep in the movie just because it would be awesome to have another leading female heroine kicking arse.

Seriously what is with all this girl power stuff, yes we know that girls can do this stuff don't have to have it jammed down our throats at every turn. Gonna list a few things.

1. Mark Meer and Vanderloo are the Icon aspects of Shepard.

2. Movie would never do as well with a female lead instead of a male lead.

3. persoanlly i hope they stay away from the subject of Shepard completely as it has been developed as our story and this would say otherwise. Focus on the first contact war or something.

Let the attack on me commence.

1 is true mostly.

2 is just bull. I'm not a fan of Jennifer Hale's voice for femshep(rawr! must sound more masculine and tougher than necessary! fear me warrior woman!)

But there are PLENTY of good, successful female leads, and in fact I'd say recent trends say people would respond very very well to a female lead.

3 I agree with.
